About the role
As Senior Group Manager of Experience Design on Datadog's Web Experience team, you will lead and grow the Experience Design group while remaining hands-on with the web experiences that matter most to our customers and business. You will manage two designers today and help shape how the team scales over time. You will set a high bar for craft and execution across research, journey mapping, interaction design, prototyping, implementation, and post-launch quality. You will also evolve AI-assisted and code-connected design workflows, partnering closely with Product Marketing, Growth, Web Engineering, and Web Content Engineering to move from ideas to shipped experiences. What You’ll Do: • Lead and grow the Experience Design group, managing two designers today and helping shape the team as its scope evolves • Hire, coach, develop, and set clear expectations for designers while maintaining a high bar for design craft • Design priority web experiences from journey mapping and research through interaction design, prototyping, and shipped pages • Prototype with AI and working code, use Figma MCP and Code Connect to keep design and implementation aligned, and work directly in the CMS when appropriate • Own and evolve the team’s design process across discovery, critique, specification, handoff, and post-launch quality assurance • Partner with Product Marketing, Growth, Web Engineering, and Web Content Engineering to shape priorities and deliver web experiences that support business goals Who You Are: • Experienced across UX/UI, journey mapping, and web design, with a portfolio of shipped, high-traffic marketing or product marketing experiences and particular depth in web and product experience • A people leader who remains actively involved in design work and is comfortable moving between team leadership and hands-on execution • Comfortable using code as part of the design process, including prototyping, reading implementation details, working with Figma MCP and Code Connect, and building within a modern CMS • Experienced using AI to prototype, explore design directions, and reduce repetitive work, with a thoughtful perspective on where AI adds value to the design process • Experienced hiring, coaching, and developing designers, including giving actionable feedback and supporting specialists with deep expertise in their disciplines Datadog values people from all walks of life.
