Title and Summary Senior Accountant Overview The Ethoca Finance organization within MasterCard Controllership team is looking for a highly motivated and experienced finance professional to join them as the Senior Accountant. This position will report to the Manager, Accounting. This position is based in Bogota, Columbia. The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing Ethoca’s (a Mastercard Company) billing, recording and reconciling revenue to enable accurate, reliable, and timely reporting of financial statements and other financial data. This individual is responsible for resolving inquiries from customers, internal sales team and other business unit teams regarding billing and revenue reporting. Role - Prepare revenue accrual and revenue true up files monthly - Prepare monthly journal entries in accordance with U.S. GAAP and post journal entries in Netsuite - Manage monthly billing cycle for issuers and merchants - Prepare monthly sales tax report for Mastercard entities and other ad-hoc management reports - Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations - Provide customer service support to help resolve billing issues in a timely manner - Identify opportunities for process improvement, develop processes and implement them - Perform month end closing processes - Analyze variance and resolve root cause of the discrepancy in a timely manner - Work closely with upstream teams to set up new customers properly in Salesforce and Netsuite - Review sales contracts and maintain amortization schedule for incentives - Support a strong control environment by establishing, monitoring and enforcing operational and SOX controls based on corporate guidelines and general governance standards. Identify areas where controls can be strengthened and participate in SOX testing and internal and external audits - Assist in accounting research and provide recommendations on various topics to support Ethoca Controllership and actively participate in various projects and initiatives All About You - Fluent in English (Professional – C) required - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance - CPA and/or MBA preferred - Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting procedures - Experience in Netsuite and Oracle preferred - Prior work experience in revenue accounting and billing processes preferred - Experience in leading teams and managing financial operations in multinational organizations a plus - Strong analytical and interpersonal skills - Excellent time management and organizational skills - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously - Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills - Excellent skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint - Results-driven and motivated to drive change in a complex organization Corporate Security Responsibility All activities involving access to Mastercard assets, information, and networks comes with an inherent risk to the organization and, therefore, it is expected that every person working for, or on behalf of, Mastercard is responsible for information security and must: • Abide by Mastercard’s security policies and practices; • Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed; • Report any suspected information security violation o
