The Senior Director, Early Development Leader is responsible for leading a global multidisciplinary development team within R&D to deliver on all aspects of early drug development (Candidate Selection through completion of POC and all activities sufficient to allow initiation of Phase 2b) to agreed timelines. This role will be based out of Durham, NC or PA Locations (UP, FMC, and/or UM) or Branford, CT & is eligible for domestic relocation package. The role can also be based at our GSK HQ in London, UK. This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following: • Leads the multi-functional global Early Development Team (EDT) responsible for delivery of an asset to Phase 2b • Proactively direct medicine development strategy and plans for products from Candidate Selection through Proof of Concept/Commit to Medicine Development • Contributes to the development of the regional and global strategy for products • Interface with Senior Management, internal key stakeholders and external stakeholders to articulate and drive the Medicine Development Strategy • Interface with other key functions during the development program such as Commercial to ensure alignment on strategy and project delivery timelines • Manages prioritisation of asset’s development options to effectively manage the budget • Utilizes organizational channels, experience and influencing skills to facilitate successful project progression and effective issue resolution • Accountable for the creation and maintenance of a clear and detailed medicine development strategy.
