Commercial Counsel - Orb We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Commercial Counsel based in San Francisco to join the Commercial Legal team as Orb’s dedicated commercial counsel. In this role, you will be a partner to Orb’s leadership team and a key driver of Orb’s commercial success. You will be responsible for negotiating complex commercial agreements with Orb’s customers, vendors, and partners, and for advising stakeholders across the full range of Orb’s commercial legal needs, including advising on new product requests, template creation and maintenance, and other strategic legal initiatives. This is a role for a counsel who thrives in a fast-moving, complex environment, who is commercially-minded, and who can leverage their sophisticated legal expertise and strong communication skills into tangible, scalable value that accelerates Orb’s and Adyen’s global growth. What you'll do: • Provide strategic, business-oriented legal advice across Orb’s various commercial functions, advising stakeholders across the business on legal, regulatory, and commercial risks and requirements. • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of complex, multi-jurisdictional commercial agreements with Orb’s customers, vendors, and partners. • Advise the business on new products and services, helping to structure and mitigate risk as offerings move from concept to launch. • Create and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and other negotiation resources. Proactively problem solve for emerging legal and operational risks, providing risk-based decisions on complex legal issues and proposing improvements and efficiencies to mitigate future exposure. • Advise on early-stage customer disputes, managing initial phases of legal conflicts, and providing counsel on complex legal interpretations. • Drive legal automation efforts to help scale our work and bring greater efficiency to the negotiation process. • Work autonomously in a cross-functional manner. • Build strong relationships with colleagues, leaders, and stakeholders. Who you are: • You have 6+ years of legal experience, in house or at a law firm. • You have strong commercial contracting and/or other transactional experience with a solid understanding of contract law principles. • You are a clear communicator who ensures your stakeholders understand the purpose and reasoning behind decisions. • You have solid people skills and will work well with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and customers from varying disciplines and cultures. • You are curious, ask questions, and take ownership over your learning and professional growth. • You are self-motivated, pragmatic, reliable, adaptable, and detail-oriented. • You have the ability to structure and prioritize your work in a high volume, fast-paced environment and build and drive processes to completionYou are available to work from our San Francisco office. • You are fluent in English, both written and spoken.
