Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer (Level 2 or 3) to join our team of highly qualified, diverse professionals within the Western Region Software Engineering Directorate. This position is located onsite in Redondo Beach, CA .   *Please be aware that this position will be contingent upon obtaining and maintaining customer and/or business funding* The Western Region Software Engineering organization comprises over 800 skilled professionals—including Software Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Database Administrators, and Network Engineers—at every career stage, from early‑career engineers to senior chief engineers and architects. Job responsibilities of the Cloud Software Engineer (Level 2 or 3) include, but are not limited to, the following: • Designing, architecting, and implementing cloud software to support space ground systems and operations, including detailed software modeling and design documentation. • Writing and maintaining software in modern programming languages such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or C++. • Developing, deploying, and maintaining RESTful APIs to support mission and business functionality. • Applying CI/CD practices, version control (Git), and automated testing to enable high-quality, reliable software delivery. • Applying strong problem-solving skills to rapidly understand, analyze, and address complex technical concepts. • Preparing charts, presenting data, and providing recommendations to internal teams, program leadership, and external customers, demonstrating excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Effectively managing personal tasking and priorities in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. *Please be aware that this position is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining customer and/or business funding.* This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on the qualifications listed below. Basic Qualifications: • Cloud Software Engineer (Level 2) o Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant software engineering experience or Master’s degree with 0 years of experience. • Principal Cloud Software Engineer (Level 3) o Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience, or Master’s degree with 3+ years of stated experience, or Ph.D. with 1+ years of stated experience. • Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company. • Experience designing and developing applications using AWS cloud services (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, EC2, S3,
