Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Manufacturing Engineer based out of Elkridge, MD . The LCSO team supports electronic testing and repair operations for multiple programs for both DoD and foreign military customers. The LCSO executes low volume production; typically, production of spare LRUs, prototype manufacturing; developing one-off components, systems or test sets to support engineering development, and full systems integration for products. We are looking for someone that excels at multi-tasking in a fast paced, dynamic environment with high visibility. What You’ll Get to Do: • Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling. • Develop process documentation for new and existing systems’ Bonding, Mechanical Fabrication, Coating, and Additive Manufacturing • Work with the chief engineer to develop repair procedures • Evaluate incoming production for feasibility and process definition • Define fabrication process based on component features; materials and dimensions • Create and maintain work instructions • Designs sequence of operations and specify procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. • Develop equipment maintenance and provide an interface to BWI for equipment maintenance • Assist with the maintenance of the environmental test equipment • Work with the Industrial Engineering group to support routing development and other IE activities • Support ongoing expansion of LCSO; multiple moves and build outs, provide an interface to facilities • Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. • Providing supplier support, as needed, to resolve issues within supply base • Providing Request for Proposal (RFP) input specifically as it relates to Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) requirement such as tooling, capital equipment and/or new process development Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related STEM field with 2 years of experience working in a Manufacturing environment. Master’s degree in Engineering or related STEM field • Experience using a CAD software for Drafting/Modeling • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance • U.S. citizenshi
