About the role

Before the detail, here's the challenge you'd help us solve. We build the embodied intelligence that moves real vehicles safely, and the ecosystem a billion machines will run on in the future. Very few people in AI can say this. Every role here, whatever the team, plugs into that. Here’s what this particular role covers. 🛠️ About our Engineering Teams Production Software sits within Vehicle SW Engineering and builds the core software infrastructure that lets self-driving models interface with vehicles, be tested, and run safely in production. As part of a team restructure, this role is a high-impact opportunity to help define foundational components and engineering practices as the team scales to roughly 5–6 engineers. You will work on mission-critical, performance-sensitive systems that sit between advanced ML models and embedded/vehicle platforms, with the opportunity to specialise in mapping/navigation, filtering/diagnostics, or control/inference while still collaborating across domains.   🧠 Your day-to-day • Build and maintain core C++/Python software components that interface with autonomy models and vehicle/embedded systems. • Develop infrastructure to communicate with, run, and test self-driving capabilities, separate from ML model development. • Own reliability and performance of key systems across Linux-based environments, and contribute to tooling and diagnostics for testing and validation. • Partner with the wider org, distributed across London, Israel, and the US, to integrate changes and support releases. • Depending on the specific role, focus primarily on one domain area: localisation/navigation/mapping, filtering/diagnostics, or control/inference.   🧩 What you’ll be working on • Design, build, and maintain core C++/Python software components that interface self-driving models with vehicle and embedded systems. • Build and run infrastructure to communicate with, run, and test self-driving capabilities, kept separate from ML model development itself. • Own the reliability and performance of key systems across Linux-based environments, and build tooling and diagnostics for testing and validation. • Partner with the wider org, distributed across London, Israel, and the US, to integrate changes, resolve cross-team issues, and support releases. • Specialise in one domain area, depending on the role, such as localisation/navigation/mapping, filtering/diagnostics, or control/inference, while   🙌 You should apply if • Exceptional C++ proficiency, with a track record of writing performance-sensitive, production-quality code. • Strong Python skills for tooling, integration, and/or test infrastructure. • Solid Linux experience, including development, debugging, and operating in Linux environments. • Embedded systems familiarity, with experience interfacing software with hardware or vehicle systems. • Automotive experience is a strong plus, but not required.   🌱 Not ticking every box? That’s totally okay! If you’re passionate about autonomy and keen to learn, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every requirement.   More about Wayve: 🚀 Wayve is building the leading AI platform for autonomous driving. We are pioneering an end to end AI approach that enables vehicles to learn directly from real world experience, developing the ability to adapt, generalise and improve at scale. Instead of relying on hand coded rules or pre mapped environments, our AI Driver learns to drive by understanding the world around it. The result is technology that navigates complex urban environments with intelligence, precision and natural flow, unlocking meaningful advances in both safety and efficiency. We believe autonomy represents a once in a generation transformation in how people and goods move, comparable to
