About the role

Medical Affairs Lead Oncology - GU/GYN London Competitive Salary & Benefits Closing Date: 23rd October Join our Oncology Business Unit as a Medical Affairs Lead. You will lead the medical input to business strategic and operational planning for indications within our GU and GYN Oncology portfolios, including the development of the Medical Affairs plans; Lead delivery of clinical insight, customer focus and clinical governance into Medical and Business Unit objectives. You will also deliver Indication Brand objectives as outlined in Brand Medical Plans and develop and deliver pre-launch and peri-launch medical plans and activities. Key Accountabilities: In this role, you will provide strong matrix leadership to the Therapy Area Medical Team, contributing to a team environment that supports innovation, coaching and mentoring the TA medical team to drive excellence in skill and performance.  You will develop and maintain scientific relationships with key customers, leverage medical insight from internal and external customers into local evidence generation plans to support value propositions for the UK; Provide the medical direction for all brand related activities, and provide expert medical input into key Market Access activities.  You will also support AZ OBU to ensure that all activities conducted are within the appropriate regulatory and compliance frameworks. Essential Skills/Experience: • Proven Track record of leadership across medical affairs, specifically demonstrable strategic thinking, communication and engagement and leadership and collaboration skills • Prior launch experience, in a Medical Affairs role • Experience in oncology medicines • Extensive patient and customer insight through experience of working with the NHS (or a similar national health care system)  • Proven ability to interact with external customers • Degree or equivalent experience in related scientific field • Demonstrated ability to form strong cross functional partnerships Desirable Skills/Experience: • Registered Physician (preferably GMC) or Pharmacist (General Pharmaceutical Council) • Member/Fellow of a Royal College or the Royal Pharmaceutical Society • Higher Degree in Oncology (e.g. PhD and MSc Oncology) • Extensive experience in oncology – solid tumours, and especially GYN/GU cancers  • Hold or successfully acquire Nominated Signatory status • Proven expertise in the ABPI Code of Practice When we put unexpected teams in the same room, we unleash bold thinking with the power to inspire life-changing medicines.
