Intel's Global Construction Engineering (GCE) organization is responsible for the design and engineering of Intel's major manufacturing and cleanroom facilities worldwide. Our organization consists of highly specialized, in-house architects and engineers working in a deeply collaborative environment. Together with our factory, operations, and supply chain partners, we deliver some of the most technically complex construction programs in the industry - projects that demand precision, speed, and disciplined cost management. This is a hybrid Contract position in Penang, Malaysia. As a Construction Project and Design Engineer - Global Construction Engineering, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: • Develop discipline scope and engineering solutions for construction projects. • Interface and coordinate with contract design, construction, scheduling, and estimating resources. • Interface with facilities staff and project managers, factory partners, particularly the Industrial Engineering team, to determine the optimal facility design scope and engineering solutions that support evolving factory requirements and business needs • Define design criteria, lead scope definition and justification, develop design concepts, and oversee completion of positioning, programming, and detailed design. • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design activities to ensure alignment with project objectives, schedule, budget, and constructability requirements. • Work with estimators to ensure costs are captured and project budgets are met. • Have strong knowledge of Intel's master specifications and standards, while utilizing established change processes to improve standards and drive innovative solutions. • Collaborate and share learnings with counterparts at other sites across the globe. • Build and drive a safety culture of caring in every business environment, from offices to construction sites, and from front-end planning through construction execution. • Candidates with experience as a Design Manager on semiconductor manufacturing or advanced technology facility construction projects are highly encouraged to apply. Such experience may include leading architect-engineer (A/E) firms, managing design execution, coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams, and driving design quality, cost, and schedule performance through project delivery.
