About the role
F-22 Lead System Designer Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing F-22 Raptor team is seeking a Lead System Designer in Berkeley, MO to join the F-22 Raptor Mission System Design Team with a focus on developing cutting edge engineering solutions to continue to advance the world’s premier air superiority fighter, located in Berkeley, MO. The Lead System Designer will interact directly with customers, suppliers, partners, program management, integration, software, and test engineers. The selected applicant will be a member of a geographically dispersed, high-performing, collaborative team, and must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, excellent time-management, and strong communication and interpersonal skills. The team operates in the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to support all aspects of product development. The applicant will be expected to actively help the team to continuously improve and develop innovative and creative solutions to products and processes and to coach the team in system design best practices. Position Responsibilities: • Collaboration with Responsible Engineers, customer technical staff, suppliers, and Lockheed Martin teammates to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system and software requirements for F-22 avionics sub-systems and weapon system architecture • Resolve technical issues through coordination with engineering using established processes . . • Manage Deliverables by defining plans for risk mitigation, issues, and opportunities; and, monitoring baseline plans to assess project performance, productivity, and lessons learned. • Brief customer and program leadership on program status; risks, issues, and opportunities; and help needed. • Clearly communicate technical information to other engineers and to management. • Support the team as a lead engineer providing coaching/mentoring and constructive feedback to drive high-quality deliverables that meet program milestones. • Work closely with cross functional teams in an integrated team environment. • Problem solving and supporting other engineers in a team environment. • Influence and review performance, specification, and compliance requirements • Ensure and demonstrate traceability between the requirements, analysis, and design in digital systems models being developed by Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and practices and the final integrated products • Ensure compliance and performance of system design to security and safety requirements and configuration control processes • Contribute to defect management and resolution activities. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship • A final Secret Clearance Post-Start is required . This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry • Level 5 (Lead): 14+ years of work-related experience with a bachelor’s degree or 12+ years of work-related experience with a masters or 9+ years of work-related experience with a PhD • Travel up to10% of the time Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): • Active U.S. Secret Clearance or higher.
