About the role

Cigna Investment Management (CIM) manages over $25 billion in assets on behalf of The Cigna Group, a leading global health company and Fortune 500 company.  CIM’s assets are invested in public and private bonds, commercial mortgages, private corporate mezzanine debt and equity, real estate equity, money market funds, and derivatives. All CIM employees are supervised persons of a registered investment advisor called Cigna Investments, Inc. (CII). The Investment Operations Analyst will report to the Investment Operations Director in support of the broader Investment Operations team.  The position will support the Middle/Back Office functions for the asset class and portfolio areas within the business.  This is an entry-level position, providing an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on back-middle office experience in an Investment Management firm with a variety of asset class exposure. The Investment Operations Analyst will be involved in a variety of day-to-day business operations, including trade settlements, cash and position reconciliations, wire processing, data management, asset valuations, and reporting. Major Duties • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of CIM’s operational functions, the investment business infrastructure, data flows, processes, business needs and practices • Work closely with CIM business partners, including IT, Legal, Compliance, Accounting and Treasury to identity and assist in resolution of issues, while implementing operational process efficiencies and controls. • Supports business initiatives, process developments and improvements, and projects related to CIM Operations • Builds and maintains relationships with internal and external partners, service providers, to support operations and business activities. • Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in financial discipline. • Early-career professional with exposure to investment-related activities; internship experience preferred • Strong excel skills (v-lookups and pivot tables) • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook • Ability to work well in a team environment • Knowledge of investment management and interest in investment operations • Detail orientated, organized, intellectual curiosity and proactive problem solver • This position is located at our corporate headquarters in Bloomfield, CT with a hybrid, in office/work from home, flexible arrangement.   This position supports Cigna Investments, Inc., an investment adviser registered with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”).  The successful candidate will become an Access Person of CII required to comply with the personal trading requirements and restrictions contained in CII’s Code of Ethics.  These requirements and restrictions apply to the Access Person and all securities transactions in accounts in which an Access Person has a Beneficial Interest. If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload. For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 59,600 - 99,400 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
