Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for Staff Electronics Engineer - Ground System Architect/Integrator to join the team of qualified individuals in our Avionics Integration Organization. This leadership role is located onsite in Rancho Bernardo, CA. The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility . Once established in the role, this position could offer a hybrid work environment. Scheduled telework days are approved at manager's discretion. This position requires the ability to travel up to 25% of the time. ***Please note that this opportunity is contingent on program funding. Start dates are determined after funding confirmation Key Responsibilities: • Determine customer needs and develop approaches, implementations, components, interfaces, identify standards and constraints, civil requirements, and security needs • Survey the industry for awareness of customer needs and alternative systems • Lead trade studies, technology development, and subcontractor teams • Lead technical and cost proposals • Write white papers describing offerings and provide leadership and/or direction to software integration, test leads, and various engineering teams Basic Qualifications: • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline AND 12 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline AND 10 years of related professional/military experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline AND 7 years of related professional/military experience. • Must have experience working with aerospace Ground System architecture • Must have experience in hardware design, hardware architecture, or systems engineering roles • Must have experience creating and maintaining, and releasing engineering drawings, schematics, BOMs, and product definition documentation • Must have experience with configuration management and engineering change processes, including document revision control and release workflows • Must have experience and ability to develop and maintain architecture documentation, including system-level diagrams, interface definitions, and technical baselines • Must have experience using PLM/PDM systems for drawing management, document control, and product release activities • Must have strong understanding of product lifecycle management, configuration control, and design documentation best practices • Must have the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and program management teams to ensure accurate product definition and release • Must have an active US Government Secret Clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
