You'll run the core finance engine which includes payroll, payments, reconciliations, month-end and statutory compliance. You’ll be tasked with improving it with automation so it can scale without extra headcount. This is a broad role with real ownership. One day you might be closing out an audit, the next you're redesigning how customer refunds are paid or building a reconciliation that saves the team hours every week. The group spans UK and overseas entities, including subsidiaries in Hong Kong, Philippines and Dubai, and some products are FCA-regulated. You'll work closely with sales, support, property management and our external accountants and auditors. Key responsibilities: Statutory accounts, audit and group reporting • Prepare trial balances and management accounts for each entity, including overseas subsidiaries, and support group consolidation under FRS 102. • Handle intercompany balances, FX translation and acquisition accounting for new or restructured entities. • Own the audit process: prepare PBC lists, answer auditor queries and manage the group and subsidiary audits from start to finish. • Track Companies House filing deadlines, audit exemptions and accounting reference date changes so no entity falls overdue. • Assist in the preparation of VAT returns, R&D tax credit claims and other statutoring filings such as PSA and P11D. Payroll and Benefits • Oversee monthly payroll and payslip queries with our external accountants • Calculation and oversight of variable commission to the sales team • Manage share scheme compliance, including EMI notifications and annual returns. • Run employee expenses through Xero Expenses and keep the VAT treatment correct so input VAT is reclaimed. Payments, cash and reconciliations • Run weekly payment runs, including customer refunds and supplier payments • Reconcile bank, Stripe and CRM data; resolve unmatched receipts • Raise invoices to developers and customers, track and pay corresponding invoices to partners and agents. • Oversee landlord rent collection and payouts for our L&M arm, including statements and discrepancy resolution. • Manage credit control, including uncollectible invoices and failed subscription payments. Revenue and commercial controls • Reconcile deal revenue, agent fees and customer incentives in HubSpot against finance records. • Own subscription billing policy in Stripe, including the approval process for discounts and fee waivers. • Run spend analysis across vendors and flag cost trends Systems, process and special projects • Automate and document manual finance workflows (Slack, Google Sheets, Zapier, Count) • Write and maintain finance guidance for the wider team, such as expenses and subscription policies. Financial Tool You’ll Use: • Xero • Joiin • Stripe • HubSpot • Count.io • Google Sheets, • Notion, and automation tools such as Zapier. About You • CA, ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or qualified by experience), with 3+ years in finance, ideally including time in practice. • Solid UK GAAP (FRS 102) knowledge, including consolidation and intercompany. • Strong Excel skills: building clean, formula-driven reconciliations and models others can follow. • Confident working with large datasets from multiple sources (bank exports, Stripe, CRM): cleaning and joining them, spotting patterns and anomalies, and turning them into clear insights. • Clear, concise communication with non-finance colleagues, and comfort working in a fast-moving startup. • A process-improvement mindset. you question how things are done, document what you build, and use AI and automation to make finance work faster and more accurate.   Why
