About the role

About the Role Join a technical pre-sales team helping research and development organizations modernize their data management and workflows. You will guide prospects from early demonstrations through technical evaluations and pilot projects, showing how software can support faster, more informed product development. What You'll Do • Own the technical pre-sales process, from initial demonstrations to value case development, evaluation planning, and pilot execution. • Build tailored demonstrations, workshops, and pilots around prospective customers' research and development workflows. • Partner with sales colleagues and customer stakeholders to communicate value and support new business. • Lead technical evaluations and presentations, explaining how software can improve research data management and innovation. • Mentor early-career team members supporting technical evaluations. • Write scripts and configure integrations on an integration server for custom prospect engagements. • Travel 25% to 50% to deliver on-site presentations and workshops. What We're Looking For • Approximately 4 to 7 years of relevant experience in technical pre-sales, scientific software, or a related field. • A strong background in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or a related discipline; an advanced degree is preferred. • Experience writing scripts and configuring integrations to support custom technical engagements. • Confident communication, curiosity, ownership, and the ability to deliver under pressure in a fast-paced pre-sales environment. • Experience with digitalization in the chemical or materials sector, technical management consulting, or software engineering is a plus. Compensation & Benefits Compensation is $120,000 to $150,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available. Location Remote, with Munich, Bavaria, Germany as the primary location.
