About the role
MKTQ427R53 Director, Event Technology Lead, and continue to build, a high-performing event technology team and the systems that make Databricks Corporate Events reliable, secure, and scalable. This role stewards and evolves the event technology ecosystem across flagship conferences, global series, executive programs, and field events, with the Digital Tools Lead and broader team driving functional ownership. You will set direction, strengthen leadership capacity, remove barriers, and use data and responsible AI to improve attendee experience and operating efficiency. The impact you will have • Sustain and strengthen a high-performing event technology organization with clear structure, career paths, leadership capacity, and staffing plans aligned to a growing global event portfolio; success is measured through team retention, development progress, leadership depth, and delivery capacity. • Own and advance a prioritized, multi-year event technology roadmap aligned with marketing leadership across Data + AI Summit, Data + AI World Tour, AI Days, executive programs, and field events; success is measured through roadmap delivery, stakeholder alignment, and adoption of agreed capabilities. • Keep a complex event technology ecosystem launch-ready, reliable, and scalable across registration, event management, mobile apps, meetings, content, check-in and badging, signage, streaming, onsite AV, production, network, and IT; success is measured through service performance, readiness milestones, and fewer critical event technology issues. • Govern secure and compliant handling of attendee and event data by ensuring required security, privacy, legal, vendor-risk, data-protection, and music-rights requirements are resolved before platforms or content go live; success is measured through completed approvals, documented controls, and no unresolved compliance blockers for live or distributed events. • Strengthen and steward a trusted event data foundation that connects registration, attendance, and engagement data with Salesforce, Marketo, the Databricks platform, and reporting partners; success is measured through reconciled data, accurate reporting, and reliable access for Analytics, Marketing, and Sales Operations. • Optimize the financial and operational performance of the event technology portfolio through disciplined budget stewardship, vendor strategy, sourcing, contracts, procurement, and multi-year SaaS negotiations; success is measured through spend against plan, vendor performance, contract outcomes, and delivery against service expectations. • Reinforce consistent ways of working across programs—including requirements, intake, prioritization, testing, UAT, documentation, and retrospectives—so teams deliver repeatable, predictable event experiences; success is measured through adoption of operating standards and improved execution consistency. • Expand safe, responsible AI and agent-based automation across event technology operations to reduce manual work and improve speed and quality; success is measured through documented use cases, adoption, time saved, and appropriate risk controls. What we look for • 12+ years of experience in event technology, corporate events, or marketing technology, including 5+ years leading and developing full-time and contract teams. • A demonstrated record of leading and evolving an established organization, developing strong leaders—including functional leads such as a Digital Tools Lead—delegating meaningful ownership, and building an accountable, high-trust team culture. • Experience owning event technology strategy and delivery for a flagship conference with 35,000+ in-person attendees and a multi-city global event series. • Broad, credible experience across enterprise event management, m
