As a Director of Project Management at Capital One, you will work closely within our cyber security Governance and Risk team, leading a team to coordinate and execute on audit, regulatory and executive engagements. You will work with extended technical teams to manage and improve our processes from beginning to end, using our business’ management framework, SLQ2CQ, based on Lean Enterprise and Six Sigma. We are seeking a dedicated and disciplined process and risk professional, who excels in a team environment, displays strong leadership skills, and motivates others. They must be proficient in managing and directing their own work independently, while influencing partners across the company and across multiple levels of the organization. This person will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, strong analytical skills, quickly adapts to change, and is self motivated. As a part of the Information Security Office, you will have the opportunity to work with and lead cross functional teams. You will do this in a collaborative environment that values your insight, encourages you to take on new responsibilities, promotes strategic thinking, and supports continuous learning and growth. Specific responsibilities related to project management include: • Demonstrates a proven track record of excellent program management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment • Driving all phases of project management to include feasibility, definition, planning, prioritization, implementation and close out of projects • Effectively applying project management methodology and standards, and ensuring project documents are complete and up to date • Displaying cross-functional teamwork, communication, negotiation and leading across all levels • Partnering cross-functionally with key stakeholders to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery • Working with cross functional teams and influencing others to work toward common goal, regardless of resource and time constraints • Creating transparency and fostering relationships to adjacent teams General Responsibilities: • Proven ability to build a team strategy and effectively develop and lead a team of associates in pursuit of top performance • Understanding of financial systems and technology processes • Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast-paced environment • High degree of organizational skills and ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously; prioritizes based on impact and makes difficult tradeoffs to meet deadlines • Effective communicator – ability to create clarity amongst diverse groups from team members to stakeholders • Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills – ability to establish metrics and utilize data to measure operational efficiency, team health, and partnership effectiveness • Asks the tough questions and challenges the status quo Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree • At least 9 years of process, project, or program management experience • At least 7 years of people management experience Preferred Qualifications: • Masters in Business Administration
