About the role
Your future role End-to-End Recruiting for Engineering (Germany & Singapore) • Own recruiting for our Engineering roles from first briefing with hiring managers to offer, across our German and Singapore offices • Screen candidates and manage pipelines across both locations, and create an excellent candidate journey where you keep the overview at every step • Align processes, interview guides and scorecards between the German and Singapore teams, and work closely with hiring managers in both locations across time zones Technical Assessment • Run live coding challenges with candidates: follow their thinking, ask good follow-up questions, and help them get unstuck if they hit a wall • Evaluate technical results together with hiring managers Putting Data4Life on Engineers' Radar • Write job ads that speak to engineers, not just tick boxes • Actively direct-search engineering candidates on LinkedIn and build a talent pipeline, staying in touch with people who might not be the right fit today but could be down the line • You read the signs of the times, stay on top of the latest recruiting trends, test new channels and formats, evaluate what works, and bring your own ideas to the table • Use AI tools to make our recruiting process faster and smarter, and know how to handle new challenges like AI-generated applications or screening responses • Represent D4L at recruiting fairs, tech meetups and in relevant tech communities What you need to succeed • At least 3 years of experience in technical recruiting, ideally in-house at a tech or digital health company, hiring software engineers (data scientists or product managers a plus) • Hands-on coding background: you can code yourself and think your way into an unfamiliar stack, know backend from frontend languages, and are comfortable with things like TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, Go, React/Vue, Docker and Kubernetes, well enough to run, challenge and support candidates through a live coding challenge; comfortable browsing GitHub and plugged into developer communities is a bonus • Strong writing skills, you can craft job ads and outreach messages that actually get read • Confident with direct sourcing and Boolean search, comfortable testing new sourcing formats and using AI tools thoughtfully • Fluent, professional-level English (our company's main language), so you can confidently communicate with candidates and stakeholders across Germany and Singapore; German is a plus for collaboration with external partners in Germany • Experience in recruiting across time zones and locations, ideally including APAC • Confident with tools like Personio, LinkedIn Recruiter and common ATS/sourcing tools (SAP HRM a plus) Why you will love working with us • Ownership: real responsibility for engineering hiring in a growing organization • Purpose: meaningful work at a nonprofit with genuine societal impact • Great team: A diverse, interdisciplinary and international team, working together across 3 locations (Potsdam, Berlin and Singapore) • Flexibility: full-time or part-time (32-40 hours/week over 5 days), with the option to work remotely within our office presence framework • Contract: permanent employment contract with 30 days of vacation and market-rate compensation • Benefits: attractive employee benefits, e.g. supplementary private health insurance, job ticket, annual learning & development budget Good to know • We especially welcome applicants from the LGBTQI+ community, people with a migration background, people of color, and individuals with disabilities or chronic illnesses. • If you need support or special assistance during the application or interview process due to a disability, please let us know, we're happy to accommodate you as much as possible. • This position offer
