About the role

F/A-18 Ordnance Technician Company: Boeing Aerospace Operations Boeing Global Services is searching for F/A-18 Ordnance Technician willing to work on 1st or 2nd shift at Naval Air Station (NAS) Joint Reserve Base (JRB) New Orleans in Belle Chasse, Louisiana.   This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at NAS JRB New Orleans in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. This position may be required to work at Stennis Facility in Kiln, Mississippi as required.   Position Responsibilities: • Technician maintains the following:  Aircraft ordnance and associated equipment • Remove and install ordnance related components and gear • Perform Daily, pre and post flight and periodic aircraft inspections. • Perform flight operation activities to include daily, turnaround, launch and recovery including plane captain activities • Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes. • Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul. • Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment. • Troubleshoots complex ordnance systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components. • Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components. • Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results). • Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements. Oversees training. Works under general direction. • Works under general direction. • Prioritizes quality, product and people safety    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): • Minimum of 5 years of experience in military fighter aircraft maintenance • Willing to work variable shifts; including days, evenings, nights and weekends • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds • Minimum of 5 years' of experience reading and interpreting technical publications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals • Must be able to work outdoors under all types of weather conditions with exposure to loud noise and exhaust fumes   Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): • Fighter Structural modification experience • Experience with Ordnance or Ordnance Subsystems • F/A-18 (AO) Qualifications • Prior experience with Navy 4790.1 requirements, is preferred   Conflict of Interest:    Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.  Drug Free Workplace: Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.    This position is eligible for a Stipend payment in addition to salary for eligible candidates.
