About the role
Quantum Systems is a leading European deep-tech company for unmanned systems across air, land and maritime domains. We develop and scale integrated hardware, software and AI-powered solutions for mission-critical operations. By combining autonomous platforms with intelligent software and AI, Quantum Systems enables customers to operate, understand and act across domains. Join Quantum-Systems and help bring autonomous ground systems into real world operations. As Senior E/E Engineer EMC and Compliance, you will own electromagnetic compatibility across our UGV platforms, starting with our Mandrill UGV: from the grounding and shielding concept on the drawing board to the certificate that puts our vehicles on public roads and into military service. Your goal is one robust E/E design baseline that passes civil homologation (UN ECE R10) and military qualification (MIL-STD-461, AECTP 500) without costly redesign loops. This is a senior engineer role with real ownership and room to grow. You build our EMC capability from the ground up, set the strategy, decide early in the design, and lead campaigns through to certification. You will work at the intersection of high power electronics, vehicle E/E, radios and mission payloads, autonomy compute, suppliers, test houses and authorities. As the platform family and team grow, this role can develop into leading our EMC and compliance function. What is your Day to Day Mission: • EMC Strategy and Compliance Ownership • Define and own the EMC and E3 compliance strategy for our UGV platforms, covering civil vehicle approval (UN ECE R10, E mark for vehicle and ESA) and military qualification (MIL-STD-461G, MIL-STD-464, AECTP 500 / AECTP 250, MIL-STD-1275). • Translate customer, NATO and national requirements into an EMC control plan, requirement matrix and test strategy, and keep them current as configurations evolve. • Act as the technical interface to accredited test houses, technical services, type approval authorities and defence customers during qualification and acceptance. • EMC by Design • Develop and integrate the grounding, bonding, shielding and harness concept for the complete vehicle, with special focus on high voltage and high power electronics: traction inverters, DC/DC converters, battery systems and chargers together with outstanding team of engineers • Run EMC design reviews for schematics, PCBs, harnesses, enclosures and connectors; specify filters, transient protection and shielding concepts. • Manage RF coexistence on a dense platform: datalinks, GNSS, tactical radios and payload emitters working side by side without degrading each other. • Flow down EMC requirements to suppliers, run component level reviews and assess their test evidence. • Test, Troubleshooting and Qualification • Build our in house pre compliance lab (LISN, spectrum analyser, near field probes, current clamps, automated measurement scripts) so issues are found on the bench, not in the chamber. • Plan, witness and lead full compliance campaigns at component, subsystem and vehicle level; drive root cause analysis and verified fixes when tests fail. • Use simulation (e.g. FEKO, CST, LTspice) where it saves test iterations. • Cross Functional Collaboration and Standards • Work closely with payload integration, vehicle E/E, mechanical, autonomy and manufacturing teams so EMC is built in, not bolted on. • Create EMC control plans, test procedures, reports and qualification evidence, and turn lessons learned into internal EMC design rules for every future platform and payload. What you bring to the team: • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics or a comparable technical field. • 8+ years of EMC experience in automotive, commercial vehicle, rail, aerospace or def
