The Role and Impact As an AI Frameworks Engineer, you will design, develop, and optimize AI software frameworks that enable cutting-edge machine learning breakthroughs and scientific innovations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will focus on enhancing the performance and functionality of AI frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow, identifying and resolving bottlenecks, and implementing optimizations tailored to Intel's advanced hardware platforms. Your work will directly impact the scalability, efficiency, and usability of AI solutions across Intel's platforms, empowering researchers and developers to achieve groundbreaking results. Business Group The Data Center Group (DCG) drives innovation in AI, and advanced data solutions, supporting Intel's mission to deliver world-class computing platforms. As part of the AI Frameworks division, this role contributes to optimizing popular AI frameworks to maximize performance on Intel's CPUs, GPUs, and AI accelerators. DCG fosters collaboration across teams and technologies to shape the future of AI workflows and computing systems globally. Responsabilties: Design, develop and optimize for AI Inference and finetuning workloads for performance benchmarking on Intel Data center CPU and GPU. Implement various distributed algorithms such as model/data parallel frameworks, parameter servers, dataflow based asynchronous data communication in deep learning frameworks. Propose optimizations in SW and kernel implementation to improve workload performance. Profile DL and LLM models to identify performance bottlenecks and propose solutions across individual component teams. Optimizing code for various computing hardware backends. Interacting with external consortiums to propose and contribute benchmarks on Intel HW platforms. The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavior skills: Strong communication skills Work well in a team environment Qualifications: You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your degree, research and or relevant previous job and or internship experiences. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's & 4+ years or Master's & 3+ years or PhD & 0 years of relevant industry experience in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or AI or computer vision or SW Engineering or related technical discipline. Programming skills in languages like Python, C/C++ and CUDA Low level programming and performance optimization skills for CPU and GPU including code generation, performance optimization, distributed compute and resource management. Computer architecture. Deep Learning algorithms. DL frameworks (e.g. vLLM, SGLang, PyTorch, JAX, etc.) Preferred Qualifications: Hardware-software co-design and stack optimization.
