About the role
Job Title Compliance Investigator Job Description Your challenge As an Investigator in the Group Legal Compliance – Investigations team, you will lead and contribute to compliance investigations across Asia, helping to build a world-class, innovative investigation function. You will manage complex, sensitive, and high-impact matters, while supporting Legal Compliance’s transformation in response to the Company’s evolving risk profile. You will engage with senior management on sensitive issues and emerging trends, enabling informed and appropriate management action. Your responsibilities As part of the Group Legal Compliance – Investigations team, with offices in the Netherlands, Panama, and China, you will: · Lead and manage multiple compliance investigations across Asia, from initial assessment through reporting and remediation. · Conduct complex and sensitive investigations in a timely, objective, thorough, and independent manner. · Develop investigation plans; gather, assess, and document relevant evidence; and conduct effective interviews. · Prepare clear and concise investigation reports in English and communicate investigation outcomes to local and global senior management. · Document findings, conclusions, and supporting evidence in accordance with prescribed investigation methodologies, procedures, tools, and systems. · Take ownership of investigation documentation and reporting throughout the investigation lifecycle. · Build trusted relationships and engage effectively with stakeholders across the region, while driving sensitive processes with appropriate discretion and independence. · Identify risk trends and root causes, translate investigation insights into practical learnings and solutions, and support risk owners and business leaders in defining effective remediation plans. · Share investigation insights and best practices across the function. · Actively contribute to global compliance initiatives and the continuous development of the Investigations function. Location: Shanghai, China. You’re the right fit if you have · A genuine passion for investigative and fact-finding work, combined with the persistence and judgement required to handle challenging matters. · A bachelor’s degree or above in Law, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline. · At least five years of relevant experience in compliance investigations or a comparable role. · Demonstrated ability to identify and pursue relevant sources of evidence, analyse complex information logically, and conduct effective investigative interviews. · A sound understanding of business processes, financial reporting systems, compliance regulations, etc.. · Proven experience managing multiple complex matters to timely completion and engaging credibly with senior stakeholders, both locally and globally. · Excellent English report-writing and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present sensitive findings clearly and objectively. · Experience using forensic e-discovery or data-review tools. · High integrity, sound judgement, attention to detail, self-motivation, resilience, and a collaborative mindset. · The ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and handle sensitive matters with discretion and courage.
