The Role: General Motors Service Engineering is seeking an experienced people leader to lead a Mechanical Service Information Development team responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and usable service information throughout the vehicle lifecycle. This role leads a team supporting current and future vehicle launches, warranty-reduction initiatives, and ongoing maintenance of service procedures throughout the vehicle lifecycle. The Team Leader combines people leadership, technical direction, operational execution, and strategic improvement to help technicians and customers receive accurate, accessible, and efficient service information when they need it. The successful candidate will lead a team of technical professionals who manage service information across body, exterior, interior, and electrical commodities. The role also provides an opportunity to shape the transition to a new authoring system, advance artificial intelligence and automation opportunities, improve service information quality, and lead complex projects that move the business forward. What You’ll Do (Responsibilities): • Lead, coach, and develop a team of service information authors while setting priorities, balancing capacity, and supporting career growth. • Oversee the creation, validation, and publication of mechanical service procedures, mechanical diagnosis, graphics, and related service content. • Plan and deliver service information work for current production, future vehicle launches, and full vehicle-lifecycle updates. • Provide technical direction and escalation support across assigned vehicle commodities (body, interior, exterior, electrical, collision), ensuring service content is accurate, complete, usable, and compliant with GM standards and applicable requirements. • Lead the transition to a new service information authoring system, including testing, process definition, user readiness, data quality, and issue resolution. • Support warranty-reduction and first time quality initiatives by using field data, technician feedback, repair information, and service labor opportunities to identify and improve service procedures. • Lead special projects and evaluate AI, automation, analytics, and other digital capabilities that improve service information quality, efficiency, and productivity. Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)​​: • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, automotive technical, or a related discipline. • Demonstrated experience leading people, teams, or complex cross-functional projects, including setting priorities and delivering results through others. • Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and deadline-driven environment. • Strong understanding of vehicle mechanical systems, service procedures, repair methods, and the relationship among vehicle systems, customer concerns, and repair outcomes. • Strong project management, planning, problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, including leadership. • Ability to build effective relationshi
