About the role
What is the job? This is an opportunity to shape how our clinical teams learn, develop and perform as Montu continues to grow. Sitting within the Learning and Development function, you will take ownership of the learning experience across our clinical teams. You will build structured, engaging and practical development programmes that give our people the knowledge, skills and confidence to deliver safe, consistent and patient-centred care. You do not need to be a clinician or hold a professional healthcare registration. However, you will need to understand the realities of working in a clinical environment, including the importance of patient safety, clinical governance, regulatory compliance and quality. Working closely with clinical subject-matter experts, operational leaders and the wider People team, you will turn complex standards, processes and clinical requirements into learning that people can understand, apply and embed in their everyday work. This is a hands-on role for someone who is passionate about developing people, confident working with specialist stakeholders and comfortable building learning solutions in a fast-paced and evolving environment. What You Will Own Clinical Learning and Development • Own the learning and development plan for our clinical teams, ensuring it supports business priorities, service growth and workforce capability • Design and deliver structured onboarding, induction and ongoing development programmes for new and existing team members • Build clear learning pathways that support employees from joining the business through to continued development and career progression • Create engaging workshops, digital learning, practical resources and supporting materials for a range of clinical audiences • Conduct training needs analyses, skills audits and capability assessments to identify current and future development priorities • Deliver group workshops, virtual learning sessions and one-to-one coaching where required • Support the delivery and monitoring of mandatory training and continuing professional development requirements Competency and Capability • Develop clear and practical competency frameworks in partnership with clinical subject-matter experts • Create consistent approaches to assessing knowledge, skills and competence across clinical teams • Work with managers to identify capability gaps and put appropriate development plans in place • Support leaders in embedding coaching, feedback and reflective practice within their teams • Ensure learning is transferred into day-to-day performance rather than ending when the training session finishes Clinical Standards and Governance • Work closely with Clinical Governance, Quality, Safeguarding and operational leaders to ensure learning reflects current standards and requirements • Translate clinical policies, pathways, Standard Operating Procedures and regulatory requirements into clear and practical learning • Support the rollout of new clinical services, systems, technologies and ways of working through effective training and change support • Ensure relevant learning supports Care Quality Commission standards, patient safety requirements and internal governance expectations • Recognise where specialist clinical input or approval is required and work with the appropriate subject-matter expert • Maintain accurate learning, competency and compliance records across clinical teams Learning Impact and Continuous Improvement • Establish clear measures of success for learning programmes and evaluate their impact on capability, performance and service quality • Use assessment outcomes, employee feedback, audit findings, quality data, incidents, complaints and patient feedback to identify learning priorities • Produce meaningful
