About the role
About Unity Advisory Unity Advisory is a modern advisory business built for today's CFO, with connected solutions across finance, deals and tax. Focussed on client outcomes, seasoned experts lead every engagement, in an operating model powered by AI and free from audit conflict. The Role We're looking for a Manager to lead our corporate tax advisory practice. You'll run a portfolio of client engagements across corporate structuring, M&A tax, and strategic planning, supporting CFOs and business leaders on decisions that move the needle. You'll lead the technical work, be the trusted point of contact for clients, and develop our team as we scale. This is a genuine opportunity to shape how the team operates, not slot into an existing one. Unity's technology and AI tools handle the heavy lifting on compliance, data analysis and scenario modelling, freeing you up for the strategic thinking and client relationships that drive real value. Responsibilities • Lead a portfolio of corporate tax advisory engagements across multiple sectors and transaction types. • Develop and deliver tax strategy recommendations on structuring, planning and optimisation, translating complexity into clear commercial advice. • Prepare and review corporate tax compliance work, ensuring technical accuracy and full compliance with current legislation. • Manage HMRC correspondence and enquiries, representing clients effectively and negotiating outcomes on their behalf. • Work with clients on M&A tax due diligence, transaction structuring and post-deal tax integration planning. • Produce clear, well-structured technical reports and client-facing deliverables that explain tax positions in plain terms. • Coach and develop junior team members through day-to-day oversight, review and quality control. • Contribute to business development, including proposals, pitches and growth opportunities within existing and new client relationships. Qualifications • Strong technical knowledge of UK corporate tax legislation, comfortable managing multiple live engagements simultaneously. • Solid track record in corporate tax advisory or compliance, gained at an established advisory or accountancy firm. • CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification. • Confident with data and digital tools — able to interpret financial information, pick up new platforms quickly, and use technology to improve how you work. • Credible communicator with senior stakeholders; able to explain complex tax positions clearly and build trusted adviser relationships. • Self-directed — comfortable owning a portfolio of clients and taking the initiative to identify growth opportunities. Additional Information At Unity Advisory, we are committed to providing an inclusive and accessible recruitment process. In line with the Equality Act 2010, we will accommodate any suitable candidate requiring assistance to attend or conduct an interview. If you need any adjustments or support, please let us know when either scheduling your interview or in your application cover letter. We are dedicated to ensuring that everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed and are here to support you throughout the process.
