Job Description: The HPE Networking CTO Wireless Lab is actively seeking intern candidates who would like to spend up to three months in a wireless performance testing lab learning new testing tools, methodologies, and to help analyze and enhance performance in a real-world setting. This role will require application of neural networking and machine learning techniques to train data analysis models. The intern will also learn how HPE wireless networking products work from a feature/functionality perspective and will participate in gathering and analyzing test data. They will help to configure and deploy lab equipment and apply networking concepts to a test environment. The intern will also develop a report which will be delivered to HPE Networking management. Education & Experience: • Currently pursuing a PhD program in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline. Knowledge & Skills: • Experience with simple "end-to-end" network performance tests (e.g. Speedtest.net, iPerf, ping) • Automation skills including scripting skills (Python, bash, and/or other relevant languages) • Data analysis experience and experience using tools such as SQL or Python pandas • Strong knowledge of ML/DL concepts and hands-on experience building, training, and deploying models using standard frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn) • Ability to leverage AI tools such as Github Copilot or Microsoft Copilot or Claude code to code efficiently • Proficiency with MS Office Excel, Word, Powerpoint or equivalent software is necessary to tabulate, analyze, and present results • moderate familiarity with iOS, MacOS, Android, Windows, Linux operating systems • General radio/RF training or experience • Basic training in statistics Impact/Scope: • University students enrolled in a PhD program who are engaged in a technical or non-technical internship role at the company during their academic studies or during summer breaks between university semesters. These internships are designed to provide hands-on experience in a professional setting, allowing PhD candidates to apply their advanced research, analytical, and problem-solving skills to real-world challenges. Interns may contribute to ongoing projects, conduct independent research, or support strategic initiatives aligned with their field of study.
