We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Technician 1 for our San Diego location. The Manufacturing Technician 1 position performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations in layup and panel fabrication. Primary Responsibilities: • Handling and managing fragile composite materials. Prep, lay-up and bonding of composite products • Experience with layup of uni-directional and weave pre-pregs • May report status/progress and interface with other employees and departments. • Tooling preparation and release application. • Utilize measurement tools such as calipers, rulers, and tape measures for fabricating hardware. • Assist in maintaining overall shop appearance and cleanliness. • Execute to written instructions. Basic Qualifications: • A high school diploma and 0-2+ years' of composite lay up/ bonding experience in a manufacturing environment. • Experience working in a composites/manufacturing environment (space/satellite structures, aerospace manufacturing environment) • Demonstrated Mechanical Ability. • Able to read, write and work to written instructions, blueprints, or shop drawings in English. • Proficient use of basic shop arithmetic. • Ability to work under limited supervision. • US Citizenship required Preferred Qualifications: • Associate's degree or 2 year Technical degree and 3 years' minimum experience in a manufacturing environment. • Excels in a team environment. • Ability to work under limited supervision. • Initiative, self-starter, adaptable, and high motivation for excellence. • Ability to multitask, prioritize. • Experience or familiarity with ISO requirements, standards, and compliance issues. • Standard computer literacy skills in Microsoft Office: Word and Excel.
