The Sr. Counsel, Compliance & Investigations will play a pivotal role in promoting Pinterest’s strong culture of compliance and ethics. The successful candidate will own the implementation and improvement of the internal compliance investigations program; conduct sensitive and confidential investigations; and work as a highly experienced project manager capable of driving and supporting management of the global compliance investigations portfolio. This role will manage various compliance operations initiatives related to internal investigations, including design, implementation and maintenance of policies, systems, reports, metrics, and other controls. What You’ll Do: • Responsible for the end-to-end compliance investigations process, including conducting and managing all aspects Pinterest’s Compliance investigations program, working closely with fellow compliance team members and cross-functional partners like Employment Legal, Human Resources, Finance, and Security • Advise on and make recommendations for investigation outcomes, conduct root cause analysis and recommend improvements and/or remedial actions • Promote best-practices relating to the conduct of investigations and fine-tune investigation procedures, including maintaining program materials, mentor and oversee the work of junior or contract investigators, as needed, and identify and implement appropriate use cases for technology and AI. • Identify trends and themes, including in root causes and disciplinary results, including to drive fairness in program application and outcomes • Prepare and provide updates on investigations, trends and learnings, to internal stakeholders, including senior management, compliance leadership, and Pinterest’s Board of Directors, as appropriate • Drive embedding our “speak up” values more deeply into our corporate culture while ensuring compliance with requirements of evolving global whistleblower laws and regulations • Engage with stakeholders on compliance and disclosure matters, including responding to requests for information and assisting in audit responses, and support responses to law enforcement inquiries, subpoenas, and external investigations • Provide counsel on legal and regulatory issues that arise in connection with investigation matters, as well as general compliance matters, including conflicts of interest, third party due diligence and audits and other matters, as needed. What We’re Looking For: • Juris Doctorate from an accredited U.S. law school • Experience at a top law firm and/or in-house legal and compliance department • Experience conducting complex and sensitive investigations for
