Title and Summary Vice President, Risk Management Overview: The Enterprise Risk Management team is looking for a Vice President, Strategic Risk to lead Mastercard's Strategic Risk function. This role helps Mastercard make better strategic decisions by providing independent risk perspectives, executive challenge and structured decision support across the company's most significant initiatives. This role will partner with senior leaders across Mastercard to evaluate new products, emerging business models, acquisitions, strategic investments and ecosystem partnerships. The role sits at the intersection of strategy, innovation, risk and execution. It helps leadership navigate uncertainty and make informed decisions that support Mastercard's long-term growth objectives. The successful candidate will bring exceptional judgement, executive presence and intellectual curiosity. They will translate complex issues into clear, actionable insights for senior management and the Board. Role: The Vice President, Strategic Risk will focus on the following areas: • Strategic decision support. Serve as Mastercard's lead risk advisor on the company's most significant strategic decisions. Lead independent assessments, frame decision points, risks, trade-offs and success conditions, and provide objective challenge to senior leaders. • New products, business models, and strategic innovation. Lead Strategic Risk assessments of new products, platforms, services and business models, including propositions involving emerging technologies, digital assets, regulated activities, ecosystem partnerships and new revenue models. • Mergers, acquisitions and strategic partnerships. Lead Strategic Risk participation across acquisitions, investments, joint ventures and strategic partnerships. Oversee risk due diligence and advise executive leadership on material risks, dependencies and integration considerations. • Strategic foresight. Assess emerging trends, external developments, and disruptions that may affect Mastercard's Risk Profile. Provide insight on potential business dynamics, regulatory developments, technology shifts and market opportunities that should inform our Risk Frameworks • Executive influence. Build trusted relationships across business and control functions. Facilitate alignment where priorities compete, and present clear risk perspectives to senior management, governance bodies and the Board. • Leadership and capability building. Lead and develop a high-performing Strategic Risk team. Build scalable methodologies, tools and operating practices, and foster independent thinking, constructive challenge and practical problem-solving. All About You: The ideal candidate for this position should: • Bring advanced expertise in strategy, management consulting or enterprise risk management in the financial services, technology or a related industry. • Have a demonstrated record of advising senior executives on complex strategic decisions and influencing outcomes without relying on formal authority. • Understand business risk assessment in new product development, strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, and enterprise decision-making. • Synthesize complex and incomplete information into clear executive recommendations, with strong written, verb
