About the role
Business Introduction GSK is focused on preventing and changing the course of disease through vaccines, specialty medicines and general medicines. Through continuous innovation and a dedicated focus on scientific and technical excellence, we strive to develop and launch new, groundbreaking treatments that address critical health challenges. GSK is a recognised global health leader working to change the course of high-burden infectious diseases in lower-income countries, particularly tuberculosis, malaria and antimicrobial resistance. In partnership with others, GSK Global Health aims to prevent avoidable deaths, strengthen health systems and improve outcomes for the patients and communities most affected. Are you a strategic policy and advocacy leader who combines sound judgement, delivery discipline and external credibility? Can you turn complex policy insight into practical advocacy that advances GSK’s Global Health priorities and strengthens our wider corporate policy impact? If so, we would like to hear from you. Role purpose As Director, Global Corporate Policy & Advocacy, you will: • Shape the policy environment needed to enable sustainable access to GSK’s Global Health innovations in lower-income countries. • Develop and deliver high-impact policy, partnership and advocacy strategies across Global Health, access, pricing and intellectual property. • Translate external policy, political and geopolitical insight into clear positions, practical recommendations and engagement plans. • Strengthen GSK’s external voice and enterprise policy impact by building strategic relationships, delivering targeted advocacy and thought leadership, and leading credible engagement with governments, multilateral organisations, IFPMA and other priority stakeholders. • Help advance GSK Global Health’s ambition to change the trajectory of high-burden infectious diseases, particularly tuberculosis and malaria. This is an opportunity to shape high-profile policy and advocacy work with visible impact across GSK. You will work with senior leaders and external partners on issues that influence access, innovation and sustainable health outcomes, while developing your expertise across Global Health and corporate policy. In this role, you will lead the following activities: • Lead the development and delivery of integrated global policy strategies and advocacy plans that advance GSK’s Global Health and other enterprise priorities. • Develop enterprise policy positions on access to pharmaceutical innovation, pricing and intellectual property, informed by horizon scanning and robust external insight. • Build influential relationships and coalitions with governments, multilateral organisations, industry associations, and other stakeholders. Use these partnerships to advance shared policy priorities, identify opportunities for collaboration and strengthen GSK’s voice on priority global issues. • Create and implement strategic engagement plans, secure and equip senior leaders for key engagement opportunities, and provide compelling briefings and follow-up action plans. • Represent GSK in priority global health, access, disease-focused and industry coalitions, working groups and steering committees, including IFPMA. • Coordinate across internal functions to deliver aligned, compliant and impact-focused advocacy, supported by high-quality policy materials.
