ABOUT THE TEAM At Unzer, the Data Protection Team is part of the Legal Department and plays a key role in enabling our business to grow responsibly in a highly regulated environment. We partner closely with teams across the organization to ensure that privacy and data protection requirements are embedded into products, processes, and innovation initiatives from the start. Following Unzer's merchant-first principle, we take a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach to data protection, balancing regulatory compliance with business needs. As part of our team, you will work at the intersection of law, technology, and innovation. What your work will look like: • Drive data protection compliance across the business and act as a trusted advisor on privacy-related matters. • Partner with stakeholders across the organization to ensure privacy requirements are embedded into new products, services, and business initiatives. • Conduct data mapping activities, DPIAs, and TIAs, translating regulatory requirements into practical and scalable solutions. • Manage key processes and documentation, including records of processing activities, privacy notices, policies, and procedures. • Draft, review, and negotiate data protection agreements, and support the handling of data subject rights requests. • Coordinate the assessment and resolution of data protection incidents, including remediation measures and regulatory reporting where required. • Collaborate with the Data Protection Officer and bring your privacy expertise to AI and innovation initiatives, including compliance with the EU AI Act. What you need to be successful in this role: • Preferably a full legal qualification (1 st and 2 nd State Exam ), a degree in Law, IT, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification are also welcome, ideally complemented by data protection training or certification. • 2-5 years of hands-on experience in data protection, privacy, or a related compliance role. • Strong knowledge of GDPR and German data protection law, with a practical understanding of international data transfer requirements. • Experience managing key privacy processes, such as DPIAs, TIAs, data protection agreements, data subject requests, and privacy incidents. • A proactive and pragmatic mindset, combined with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. • An interest in technology, AI, and emerging regulatory developments. Experience in fintech, payments, or another regulated industry is an advantage. • Professional fluency in English and German, both written and spoken. What's next?
