About the role
Institutional Marketing Director – Immunology - Wilmington AstraZeneca is looking for an Institutional Marketing Director to join our US Immunology Marketing Leadership Team . In this high-visibility role, you will be the US lead for account-based engagement and emerging customer segments , shaping how we partner with Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), Community Health Systems, Supergroups, academic institutions, and advanced practice providers. You will sit at the center of a dynamic, matrixed organization — bridging Marketing, Sales, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Operations — to design and deliver go-to-market strategies that unlock meaningful value across the healthcare ecosystem. If you are energized by building something new, influencing without authority, and turning insights into breakthrough brand strategies, this role is for you. Responsibilities • Lead institutional channel strategy across IDNs, Community Health Systems, and Supergroups, deploying a Strategic Account Selling framework and tailored resources to maximize customer impact. • Serve as the key liaison between marketing and institutional-based selling teams, ensuring clear alignment with broader brand strategies and goals. • Develop account-based go-to-market recommendations , including customer segmentation, field deployment, and orchestrated account execution plans. Leadership and being SME • Drive the insight generation agenda , partnering with Insights & Analytics to unify intelligence across critical HCP segments and treatment settings. • Build a dedicated brand strategy to activate advanced practice practitioners, academia, and fellows — from insight through execution. • Design and deploy marketing assets aligned to prioritized value propositions, from briefing through flawless execution. • Collaborate cross-functional teams across Head Quarter and Field. • Support Immunology senior leadership in driving organizational alignment and informing critical business decisions. • Lead coordinated strategic planning across indications and functions to maximize portfolio synergies. Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor's degree required. • 8+ years of Pharmaceutical or Healthcare experience. • 5+ years of Pharmaceutical Marketing or related experience, including Marketing, Managed Markets, Pharmaceutical Sales, Market Research/Analytics, Strategic Planning, or relevant Agency experience. • Demonstrated leadership within cross-functional and strong learning agility. • Broad knowledge of the branded pharmaceutical development-to-commercialization process , including marketing insight and strategy development. • Expert written, presentation, strategic analysis, and business case development skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into executive-level communications. • Proven ability to collaborate, influence at all levels, and lead without authority across cross-functional teams and partners. • Ability to travel approximately 20% . Preferred Qualifications (Desirable) • Advanced degree in Business, Marketing, or the Sciences. • Broad business acumen with experience across multiple functions . • Experience in cross-channel, cross-customer marketing . • 3+ years of leadership experience managing teams. • 3+ years of experience in Rheumatology/Immunology or specialty care . • Experience across the product life cycle (emerging, launch, in-line, mature).
