About the role

Avionics Engineer – Electronics & Ground Support Equipment We are looking for an Avionics Engineer to design, build, test, and support the electronic systems that enable our launch vehicles to operate. You will work across both flight hardware and electrical ground-support equipment, contributing to the full development cycle from requirements and architecture through integration, test, and flight readiness.   This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working close to hardware. You will collaborate with systems, flight software, propulsion, mechanical, manufacturing, and test engineers to develop reliable electronics for demanding aerospace environments and the facilities used to test them.   About us We’re a Germany-based rocketry startup currently in stealth mode, scaling up rapidly to meet the demand for high-performance, reliable, and scalable solid propulsion technologies for space and defense applications.   We are already launching suborbital and ballistic rockets on a regular basis, generating significant revenue and applying our knowledge toward the development of an orbital rocket.   We are working hard to build something truly spectacular.   To thrive here you will need to be comfortable working at pace, with the autonomy to make decisions and execute on them quickly. If you’re excited by hard technical challenges and want a role where you will make a real difference each day to the future of the company, we may be the place for you.   At our company, job titles and career progression are earned, not determined by years of experience alone. They reflect the responsibility you take on and the dedication you bring to each project. If you’re ready to rise to the challenge, we’d love to hear from you.   Key responsibilities • Develop avionics electronics for flight hardware, including power, control, sensing, instrumentation, telemetry, and data-acquisition systems. • Define requirements, interfaces, architectures, schematics, PCB designs, component selections, and production documentation. • Design, build, and maintain electrical ground-support equipment, test fixtures, harnesses, and facility interfaces. • Bring up, debug, integrate, and verify electronic hardware in the laboratory, on test stands, and on vehicle hardware. • Work closely with flight software, systems, propulsion, mechanical, manufacturing, and test teams to resolve cross-disciplinary issues. • Support environmental testing, hardware campaigns, launch operations, and the continuous improvement of avionics designs and processes.   What we are looking for • A degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, avionics, computer engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent practical experience may also be relevant. • Experience designing, developing, testing, or integrating complex electronic hardware in aerospace, space, defence, automotive, robotics, or another high-reliability environment. • Strong understanding of analogue and digital electronics, power distribution, sensors, signal conditioning, and hardware interfaces. • Practical experience with schematics, PCB development, component selection, laboratory testing, and technical documentation. • A methodical approach to requirements, verification, fault finding, configuration control, and hardware safety. • The ability to work hands-on and independently while collaborating effectively across a small, fast-moving engineering team.   Desirable experience • Flight hardware for launch vehicles, spacecraft, aircraft, missiles, or other safety-critical aerospace systems. • Electrical ground-support equipment, test stands, instrumentation, data acquisition, harnessing, or vehicle integration. • Embedded electronics, microcontrollers, communication interfaces, telemetry systems
