About the role
HEY THERE! You've designed onboarding and retention flows for a mobile app, and you care as much about what the test results tell you as you do about how the screens look. We're hiring a Senior Product Designer for our Growth squad, the team behind someone's first moments with Yazio and the first week that can determine whether they stick around. You'll own the design process end to end, from understanding the problem and shaping the solution to shipping and testing the final UI. There's plenty of room to bring your own ideas to the table and influence what we build. You'll work closely with our Lead PM on what to build and why. Asking questions, challenging the brief and speaking up when you think something won't work is part of the job. You won't be designing alone. In the squad, you'll work alongside another product designer and a motion designer, sharing work and stepping into each other's projects when needed. You're also part of Yazio's wider design team, where work gets shared and critiqued openly. Let's shape the future of nutrition together and make Yazio the most successful nutrition app worldwide! This role is 100% remote and open to candidates based in Germany, Spain, Portugal or the UK. YOUR MISSION Growth runs a steady stream of onboarding and retention experiments. As the designer on the squad, you’ll help shape what we test, how we design it and what we learn from the results. • Own product design for Growth from discovery through launch: exploring problems, prototyping, designing polished UI in Figma, handing it over to engineering and iterating once it’s live • Turn experiment hypotheses into thoughtful designs, then look at the A/B test results with your PM, engineers and Growth Analytics to decide what to do next • Improve onboarding by understanding where and why people drop off, while protecting the parts of the experience that already work well • Shape the first week in the app, including the gamification features that give people a reason to come back • Work with your PM to make sense of competing opportunities and focus the squad on the ones with the biggest potential to improve retention • Keep the design quality high and the experience consistent with our design system while moving quickly, with regular feedback and collaboration across the wider design team YOUR PROFILE You'll thrive here if: • You’ve designed consumer mobile apps with a freemium or subscription model and understand how activation, conversion and retention influence each other • You’ve worked on onboarding or retention and can show us what you shipped, how you approached the problem, the decisions you made and what you learned from the results • You’re comfortable setting up A/B tests, digging into the results yourself and using what you learn to change the design • You’re highly skilled in Figma, from prototyping and components to working with design systems, and you care about the details of interaction and visual design on a small screen • You like getting to the heart of a problem rather than waiting for a brief. You form a point of view, test your assumptions and bring ideas to the team • You’re comfortable challenging ideas when you have a reason to, and you’re equally open to having your own work challenged by other designers • You use AI tools as part of your design process to explore ideas, prototype and draft copy faster, while keeping a critical eye on what’s actually good enough to ship Bonus points for: • Experience with gamification, such as streaks, rewards or habit-building mechanics • Experience personalizing flows for different user segments • Running lightweight user research or competitor research • Facilitating ideation sessions with PMs and engineers WHY US? • An exciting product with mil
