About the role

Who we are Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations™ Cloud, which is a platform that enables organizations that depend on physical operations to harness Internet of Things (IoT) data to develop actionable insights and improve their operations. At Samsara, we are helping improve the safety, efficiency and sustainability of the physical operations that power our global economy. Representing more than 40% of global GDP, these industries are the infrastructure of our planet, including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing — and we are excited to help digitally transform their operations at scale. Working at Samsara means you’ll help define the future of physical operations and be on a team that’s shaping an exciting array of product solutions, including Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, and Equipment Monitoring. As part of a recently public company, you’ll have the autonomy and support to make an impact as we build for the long term. About the role: Samsara’s Customer Education is looking for a creative Senior Instructional Designer. You’ll be part of an energetic team that will play a key role in Samsara’s growth and our customers’ long-term success. Opportunities and challenges include developing learning strategies to support our key customer personas and industries, innovating in AI-driven instructional development, contributing new ways for us to scale our process and our reach, and being a thought leader across Samsara. Learn more below! This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the US except the San Francisco Bay Metro Area, NYC Metro Area, and Washington, D.C. Metro Area. You should apply if: • You want to impact the industries that run our world: The training you build helps customers use Samsara to keep drivers safe, get goods delivered on time, and keep critical operations running. When your content works, customers adopt faster, see value sooner, and keep their people safer on the road and on the job. • You thrive on turning complexity into clarity: Our product is expanding quickly, and our customers range from fleet managers to frontline drivers to executives. You’ll take technical, fast-changing features and turn them into learning experiences that are clear, engaging, and effective for each audience. • You’re a natural collaborator: You’ll partner with Customer Success, Product, Sales, and Implementation teams to understand what customers struggle with and build content that closes the gap. You’ll also work closely with a program manager who prioritizes the team’s quarterly roadmap, and you’re comfortable juggling multiple projects at once. • You’re excited about how learning is built now: You like to experiment with new tools, AI-assisted authoring, and faster development models, and you’re energized by iterating quickly rather than perfecting slowly. You’ll help shape how our team scales content across on-demand courses, video, in-app learning, live sessions, and certifications. • You are the architect of your own career: Our Customer Education team is still shaping its future, so you’ll have real autonomy and ownership. You’ll own the learning journey for a product area, starting with Safety, and can grow as the team and product portfolio grow. In this role, you will: • Work with stakeholders across the company to define training requirements, learning goals and user needs for both customers and partners • Craft and build learning & credentialing experiences in different formats (online learning, audio, video, in-app, etc.), working within the constraints of different templates and business requirements • Leverage a wide range of tools (AI-based content authoring, multimedia) to develop content
