About the role

We are seeking an experienced Application Engineer to drive customer enablement and technical support for Bosch ADAS sensing IC solutions, covering both Radar SoC and Ultrasonic Sensing IC platforms. In this role, you will act as the technical bridge between local Tier-1/OEM customers and our international engineering / product teams (Germany). You will be responsible for customer reference designs, board-level bring-up, low-level drivers (LLD), sensor calibration, and 2nd-line technical troubleshooting across radar and ultrasonic IC product lines. The ideal candidate combines mixed-signal / RF / sensing hardware expertise with solid embedded software skills, deep technical curiosity in automotive sensing technologies, and strong cross-functional communication abilities. Key responsibilities • Hardware & Software Reference Design & System Bring-up • Hardware Design & Review: Design, evaluate, and deliver hardware reference designs and evaluation boards for Radar SoC and Ultrasonic Sensing IC platforms; review customer schematics and PCB layouts. • Board Bring-up & Optimization: Assist Tier-1 and OEM customers with PCB bring-up, sensor front-end matching (piezoelectric transducer impedance matching for ultrasonic ICs and RF front-end matching for radar MMIC/SoC. • Embedded Software & Drivers: Develop, integrate, and validate Basic Low-Level Drivers (LLD), SDK components, and measurement algorithms for both Ultrasonic ICs (e.g. echo detection, ringing suppression) and Radar SoCs (e.g. FMCW chirp configuration, data processing). • Customer Enablement & 2nd-Line Technical Support • Evaluation Kits & Demo Systems: Maintain Radar SoC and Ultrasonic IC evaluation kits (EVA), configure software toolchains and GUIs, and set up live reference demos for customer. • Customer Enablement & Calibration: Guide Tier-1 and OEM engineering teams through sensor evaluation board bring-up, parameter configuration, sensor calibration, and performance tuning across radar and ultrasonic solutions. • 2nd-Line Technical Support: Act as the local technical expert and 2nd-line support for customer inquiries across radar and ultrasonic IC platforms; reproduce issues in the lab, conduct root-cause analysis and collaborate with German development teams for complex defect resolution. • Documentation & Cross-Functional Engagement • Technical Documentation: Author and maintain high-quality customer-facing technical documents, including application notes, reference designs, calibration guidelines, user manuals, and FAQs. • Workshops & Training: Deliver in-depth technical workshops, hands-on training, and product deep-dives to customer engineering teams. • Market & Roadmap Alignment: Collect customer feature requests, market pain points, and technical requirements, feeding insights back into product management to guide future IC roadmap definitions. • Required qualifications & experience • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. • 3+ years of hands-on experience in automotive sensing systems (Ultrasonic and/or Radar), probe/transducer/RF front-end applications, or mixed-signal/sensor IC application engineering. • Solid understanding of automotive sensing principles: Ultrasonic sensing (piezoelectric transducers, resonance frequency matching, ringing time, echo filtering, threshold calibration) and/or Millimeter-Wave Radar fundamentals (77GHz/79GHz FMCW, chirp configuration, RF front-end, ADC data capture). • Proven hardware debugging skills: schematic/layout design, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc. • Solid embedded C/C++ development skills for MCUs/DSPs and strong familiarity with sensor interfaces and protocols (e.g., DSI3, SPI, UART, CAN FD, ETH). • Personali
