About the role

About CHAPTERS Group CHAPTERS Group is a listed German serial acquirer of vertical market software companies. We have grown 10x in the past five years and now own 55+ companies. Each one runs its own business, close to its customers. We help them get stronger without taking over. AI is one of the biggest opportunities we see for them, and it only works if the people in these companies actually use it. Tasks The Role German (C1+) and English required You make sure 10+ software companies get real value out of AI. You work embedded in one of our portfolio platforms. You own the AI Hub for its companies. The AI Hub is our Open WebUI-based AI platform: each company has its own instance in its own tenant, and the data stays in the EU. You keep it running, roll it out, fix what breaks, and help each company's people use it well. You are part of the AI Core Team in the CTO office. You work closely with us: you bring back what you see in the field, test new capabilities, and help shape the platform for all 55+ companies. You are hands-on. You deploy, configure, fix and integrate. Each company also has AI Champions who drive adoption locally. You are their technical backbone: when something needs engineering, you do it, and you make sure the next similar request is faster. What You Will Do • Run the AI Hub for 10+ companies: deployments, updates, configuration, SSO with Entra ID, monitoring, backups and incident handling • Onboard companies and teams: set up skills, knowledge bases and tools and get each company productive on the Hub • Be the technical point of contact: when something breaks or a Champion is stuck, you diagnose and fix it. You document recurring issues so they get solved once. • Connect the Hub where a use case needs it: Microsoft 365 / Graph, CRM, ticketing and ERP systems, through tools, MCP servers and REST APIs • Turn repeated questions into reusable assets: documentation, templates and short hands-on sessions • Work with the AI Core Team: share patterns across companies, test new features, and feed back into the platform roadmap • Support our M&A team occasionally (around 10 to 20% of your time) on technical questions, for example assessing the tech and AI stack of acquisition targets What We Are Looking For Required • German (C1 or higher) and fluent English. You work with managing directors and non-technical teams in German every day. We cannot make exceptions here. • Production operations experience. You have deployed and operated containerised applications in production (Docker, CI/CD, Linux, a major cloud, Azure preferred), and you were responsible when they broke. This usually means 2+ years in a DevOps, platform, SRE or backend role. • Python you are comfortable reading, debugging and extending • Hands-on with LLMs. You use them seriously in your own work and have built something with them, at work or on the side. You know where they fail. • You explain technical things so non-technical people understand them and can act on them. You are comfortable being the go-to technical person for teams that are not technical. Strong signals • Enterprise identity: Entra ID, OAuth, SSO • Self-hosted LLM platforms such as Open WebUI or LibreChat • MCP, tool calling, agent frameworks • Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, Terraform) • A support, solutions or customer-facing technical role in your background • Experience working across several companies, tenants or a group structure This role is not for you if • you want to spend most of your time building new AI products from scratch • you are looking for ML research or model training • you want to work only with engineers and avoid direct contact with business teams Benefits What You Get • Real ownership: 10+ companies, one platform, and you are the person
