US H-1B: cap-subject employers enter a lottery weighted by wage level — Level I gets 1 entry, Level IV gets 4 (DHS projected selection odds ≈15% at Level I to ≈61% at Level IV). About the role
About Tia
Tia is building a new model for women’s healthcare, one that treats women as whole people, not separate conditions or life stages. By integrating primary care, gynecology, mental health, dermatology, and wellness across both in-person and virtual settings, Tia is improving outcomes, lowering costs, and creating a better experience for patients and providers alike.
About the Role
We are looking for a highly organized, experienced Medical Assistant to serve as a senior operational anchor for our Pasadena clinic. This is a dynamic, fast-paced Level II role that requires you to work in a dual capacity: independently managing high-volume clinical back-office duties (including phlebotomy) while seamlessly jumping in to support front-desk administration and clinic flow.
As a Level II Medical Assistant, you are expected to bring a higher level of clinical confidence and operational agility. If you thrive in bustling outpatient environments (like urgent care, primary care, or busy women's health clinics), require minimal ramp-up time, and love being the go-to person who keeps the schedule running on time, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
Clinical & Back-Office (70%)
•
Patient Flow: Room patients efficiently, collect relevant health information, take vitals, review health summaries, and accurately document in the electronic medical record.
•
Phlebotomy & Procedures: Confidently perform phlebotomy and specimen collection while following Tia’s clinical guidelines and safety standards.
•
Provider Support: Proactively help providers prep for visits by reviewing upcoming schedules, capturing relevant patient context, and communicating important updates throughout the clinic day.
•
Clinic Readiness: Prepare, clean, disinfect, and restock exam rooms. Take ownership of supply management, expiration checks, autoclaving, and ordering supplies as needed.
•
Order Management: Support lab and imaging workflows, enter orders, confirm diagnosis codes, update pharmacy information, and ensure follow-up items are completed on time.
Administrative & Front-Office (30%)
•
Front Desk Support: Step in to assist with checking patients in/out, scheduling, answering phones, and managing the waiting room during peak times.
•
Clinic Coordination: Monitor the daily schedule, move patients smoothly from the front of the house to the back of the house, and partner with the care team to prevent bottlenecks.
•
Personalized Care: Capture relevant patient preferences and context to help the broader care team deliver thoughtful, individualized care with empathy, professionalism, and discretion.
What You’ll Bring
Requirements:
•
Credentials: Medical Assistant certification (or completion of an MA training program) as required by state guidelines.
•
Core Experience: 2+ years of MA experience in a fast-paced, high-volume outpatient setting (urgent care, primary care, or women’s health heavily preferred).
•
Clinical Skills: Proven, independent experience with phlebotomy, taking/documenting vitals, and standard clinical rooming procedures.
•
Dual-Role Readiness: Highly organized and calm under pressure, with the proven ability to manage multiple priorities across both front and back-office duties without needing constant direction.
•
Tech Savvy: Strong comfort level using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and clinical documentation tools.
•
Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
•
Experience in women’s health, gynecology, or dermatology.
•
Experience with DrChrono, TiaMD, or similar EMR systems.
•
Experience with autoclaving, disinfecting, and clinical inventory workflows.
•
Experience supporting LGBTQ+ patients or patients from diverse backgrounds.
