US H-1B: cap-subject employers enter a lottery weighted by wage level — Level I gets 1 entry, Level IV gets 4 (DHS projected selection odds ≈15% at Level I to ≈61% at Level IV). Universities and non-profit research employers are cap-exempt. The $100,000 fee for new petitions from abroad is currently blocked by a court order (appeal pending).

About the role

Lifecycle Marketing Manager- 3 month FTC Team: Marketing Prolific At Prolific, our marketplace is rooted in academia, and that commitment runs deep. Alongside our work to accelerate the future of AI, we’re continuing to redefine how the world conducts academic research. What started as a research-driven idea has evolved into the world’s most trusted infrastructure for human data. Today, tens of thousands of researchers from top universities across the globe rely on Prolific to power their work, from peer-reviewed studies to the next generation of technological breakthroughs. We're doubling down on our mission to serve the academic community, deepening relationships, building smarter tools, and making high-quality human data more accessible than ever. The role Prolific’s self-serve motion is a core growth engine for Prolific. We’re looking for an experienced lifecycle marketer to scale and ship the foundations of our lifecycle programme: onboarding, activation, retention and reactivation across email and in-app, plus the product-qualified signals that tell Sales which accounts are worth a conversation. You’ll work with Product, Customer Success, Sales/RevOps and Product Marketing. We need someone who can get up to speed quickly, make sound calls with minimal direction, and deliver programmes, dashboards and documentation. This is not a traditional B2B SaaS marketing role. We’re looking for someone who has run lifecycle in a product-led, self-serve business, where users sign up and start on their own and marketing’s job is to drive behaviour in and around the product. Demand gen, MQL/SQL pipeline, events and sales-led nurture are not the right background. This is a full-time, 3 month fixed-term contract, with the potential to extend depending on business needs. What you’ll bring to the role • 5-7 years in lifecycle, CRM, retention or growth marketing at a product-led / self-serve company , with a track record of moving activation, retention or expansion metrics (not just sending campaigns) • Prior contract, consulting or agency experience, or a clear record of delivering scoped work independently to a deadline • Hands-on ownership of lifecycle programmes for a freemium, free-trial or pay-as-you-go funnel • Strong experience with email/CRM platforms (HubSpot or equivalent) and in-product messaging tools (Pendo, Appcues, Intercom, Braze, Customer.io , Iterable or similar) • Experience defining activation, building behavioural segments and triggers, and using product usage data to drive messaging • Analytical fluency: cohort analysis, activation and retention curves, funnel conversion, LTV. You can run your own analysis in HubSpot/Hex or equivalent without a data team • Experience designing and running experiments, and knowing which results to trust • Experience partnering with Sales/RevOps on PQL or usage-based handoff • A clear communicator who can prioritise, push back and manage stakeholders without needing close supervision • Comfortable with ambiguity in a small, high-output team What you’ll be doing in the role Month 1: Diagnose and prioritise • Audit current lifecycle programmes, journeys, segmentation and tooling (HubSpot, Pendo, Hex) • Map the self-serve journey by customer segment and identify the biggest activation and retention gaps • Agree a prioritised roadmap and success metrics with Growth Marketing, Product and Customer Success • Ship at least one quick win, such as a fix to an existing onboarding email or in-app message Months 2-4: Build and launch and document • Design, build and launch onboarding and activation programmes across email and in-app (Pendo), aimed at faster time to first value • Launch retention, top-up and reactivation/win-back flows for lapsed and dormant users • Define
