About the role
People Business Partner & Total Rewards
Most People roles ask you to run processes someone else built. This one asks you to build them, and to own one of them outright: how Eye rewards and recognises its people. You’ll do that while partnering the part of the business where cybersecurity actually happens, with managers who are still learning to lead and specialists who know exactly how rare they are. If you need a mature organization around you to do your best work, this isn’t it. If you get energy from building one, keep reading.
The role
This role has two halves, and you’ll split your time roughly evenly between them.
The first half is Total Rewards. You’ll own compensation and benefits at Eye, including salary reviews, benchmarking, levelling, benefits and our equity program. There’s no finished framework waiting for you. You’ll shape it, make it hold up as we grow, and get us ready for EU pay transparency. You don’t need to be a reward specialist yet. If you owned reward projects before and want to make this your expertise, this is where you do it.
The second half is partnering. You’ll be the People Business Partner for our core business: security operations, incident response, customer support & onboarding, and project management. It’s the most varied population in the company: working students running shift rosters next to deeply specialized senior engineers, and managers at very different stages of their leadership journey.
That mix is exactly why this role needs presence more than years. You’ll coach a first-time manager on the basics one hour and align a salary band with C-level the next. You’ll need to be comfortable doing both, and to enjoy it.
What you’ll do
• Own Total Rewards end to end: run the annual salary review, keep our benchmarks honest, and build levelling and salary bands that make sense to managers and employees alike.
• Manage benefits: run our benefits across the Netherlands, the UK, Germany and Belgium, work with providers, and keep improving what actually matters to our people.
• Manage our equity program: grants, refreshers, and making sure people understand what their equity means.
• Prepare Eye for pay transparency: work with Legal and Finance so we’re ready for the EU directive, not scrambling to catch up.
• Be the trusted partner for leaders in security operations and customer support: coaching, challenging and advising at every level of maturity, up to and including the executive team.
• Be visible. This is an office where face-to-face matters: you’ll be on the floor in The Hague, listening to what’s actually going on, not partnering from a distance.
• Handle the real side of employee relations: sick leave and reintegration, conduct issues and complex cases, working with external counsel when needed. You’ve seen the challenging cases and you don’t flinch.
• Work as part of a small, tight People team: everyone picks things up, and so will you.
What we’re looking for
• HRBP experience in a scaling tech environment. You know what good looks like at 200+ people.
• Hands-on reward experience. Around a year in a reward or C&B role, or several reward projects you led yourself: salary reviews, benchmarking, levelling or benefits. Specialist depth is not required; curiosity to build it is.
• Comfortable with numbers. You can build a comp analysis in a spreadsheet and explain it to a manager who has never seen one.
• Strong stakeholder management and the presence to challenge back, including senior leadership, without becoming the policy police.
• Genuinely comfortable with ambiguity. Our problems don’t come with a manual, and you’d rather solve them creatively than wait for one.
• Hands-on, working knowledge of Dutch labor law, and you know when to bring in an expert.
• Professional English
