About the role

Regional Head of Key Account Sales (Northern & Central Europe) London | Full-time | Office-first About the team SumUp's Key Account Sales team is growing across Northern and Central Europe, with a focus on helping SMB merchants in Hospitality, Retail, and Beauty grow their businesses through SumUp's ecosystem of products. We're looking for a sales leader to help us grow our Key Account motion across the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, and the Nordics . The most important thing we're looking for is someone who really understands the SMB space — someone who has worked closely with SMB customers, understands how they make buying decisions, and knows how to build a sales approach that works for this segment. You'll work with Team Leads and Account Executives across the region, helping teams improve their sales approach, develop their skills, and consistently deliver against their goals. You'll also work closely with local teams to understand what's working, share best practices, and help shape how we scale Key Account Sales across different markets. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being close to the customer, the sales teams, and the day-to-day commercial challenges. What you'll do • Lead and support Key Account sales teams across the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, and the Nordics. • Coach Team Leads and Account Executives to improve their sales skills, customer conversations, pipeline generation, and deal execution. • Bring your understanding of the SMB market into our sales strategy, helping teams better understand customer needs and buying behaviours. • Help teams identify and win high-value SMB merchants across Hospitality, Retail, and Beauty. • Monitor sales performance, pipeline, conversion, and activity levels, using data to identify where teams can improve. • Work with local sales leaders to share successful approaches and adapt them to different markets. • Help build and improve our Key Account sales playbook, making sure it is practical and relevant for our customers and sales teams. • Create a strong coaching and feedback culture, helping salespeople and Team Leads develop their careers. • Partner with Marketing, Product, Solutions Engineering, and Customer Success to improve our proposition and customer experience. • Work closely with senior commercial leadership to share market insights, challenges, and opportunities. What we're looking for Experience with SMB customers is essential. We're looking for someone who has spent significant time selling to or working with SMBs and understands the realities of this segment. You'll ideally bring: • Strong experience in B2B sales, ideally working with SMB or mid-market customers . • A good understanding of how SMBs buy, what matters to them, and how to build a sales approach around their needs. • Experience managing, coaching, or developing salespeople and/or sales leaders. • A track record of delivering commercial results and using sales data to understand performance. • Experience with outbound sales, pipeline generation, and developing effective sales processes. • The ability to work across different markets and adapt your approach to local customer and team needs. • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships across Sales and other functions. • A practical and hands-on approach — you're comfortable getting close to the details, working with teams, and helping solve problems. • Experience in fintech, payments, SaaS, technology, or a similar B2B environment is a plus. • Familiarity with modern sales tools such as Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, MixMax, Lusha, or similar platforms is a plus.
