Senior Java Developer - Barcelona

We are expanding our product capability and looking for talented individuals to help build transformational capital markets products including: • Aeron - our flagship high-performance messaging infrastructure. • Hydra - our developer framework for accelerating the development and delivery of trading systems. • Artio - our market-leading open-source FIX engine. • Aeron Sequencer - replicated state machines at scale. YOU ARE: • A great team player who loves sharing knowledge and learning from others • A problem solver with strong analytical skills • Excited about learning new things and keeping up to date • Happy to work in a test-driven and Agile development fashion YOU HAVE: • Experience in Java server-side software development • Experience designing, building, debugging, and operating distributed systems • Experience designing and evolving messaging protocols • Experience designing and evolving software libraries • Experience applying various forms of testing to underpin software qualities, e.g., correctness and performance • Experience in measuring, benchmarking and profiling components and systems • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. YOU WILL: • Design and develop Java applications and libraries. • Write clean, efficient and well-documented code. • Troubleshoot and debug Java applications to ensure smooth performance. • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and reusability. • Keep up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in Java development. • Pair with other team members to ensure high-quality outcomes.
