About the role
Alternative Payments is building the financial operating system for SMBs, consolidating the disconnected tech stack that holds service-based businesses back. Starting with MSPs, we’ve spent five years perfecting accounts receivable, and we’re now expanding into accounts payable, AI-powered analytics, and beyond. We’re at an inflection point: closing the loop on money movement and laying the foundation for a platform that will reshape how service businesses operate financially.
We’re growing fast, thinking big, and building a global team that wants to be part of something that lasts. We believe the best solutions come from diverse perspectives, deep collaboration, and a shared obsession with customer impact. If you’re energized by real problems, real customers, and real impact, we want to hear from you!
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join Alti, our AI agent product. Alti launched in July 2026 and is growing fast. Now we need to scale it: more agents, more automated routines, and our own machine learning models alongside LLMs.
You’re a product engineer first. You ship features that customers use, and you bring hands-on experience with LLMs, agents and data. You’ll work in a small squad with engineers, a PM and a Product Designer, and you’ll help the team get stronger at evaluation, observability and taking ML to production.
This is a remote position based in Brazil.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Build and ship Alti product features end to end, from conversational AI to agents and automated routines.
- Design and improve RAG pipelines and prompt strategies.
- Build LLM evaluation pipelines to measure quality and catch regressions.
- Set up monitoring and observability for AI features: prompts, models and usage.
- Help take ML models to production with monitoring and continuous feedback loops.
- Partner with Product and Design to find where AI and ML can solve real customer problems.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Solid experience as a software engineer building and shipping product features.
- Hands-on work on AI products in the last 12 months (LLMs, agents, AI features). You don’t need to have led it, but you’ve built it.
- Experience with at least one of: chatbots/conversational AI, RAG, or LLM evaluation pipelines.
- Strong skills in at least one of Go, TypeScript/JavaScript or Python.
- A product mindset: you care about what gets delivered to users, not only the model.
- Comfort in a fast-paced environment where you own many parts of the delivery chain.
- Professional working proficiency in English.
NICE TO HAVES
- Prompt engineering experience.
- AI monitoring and observability tooling.
- Autonomous or personal agents working across channels (Slack, Teams, WhatsApp).
- Experience putting ML models into production (e.g., predictive models) with monitoring and feedback loops.
- Background in fintech, payments or financial products.
- Has built and scaled ML/LLM products
- Experience at an early-stage startup (Seed to Series B).
WHAT WE OFFER
- Competitive salary tailored to your experience, skills, and expertise.
- The total compensation range for this role is $90,000 - $105,000, plus equity. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the approximate total target compensation for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including relevant skills, experience, education/training.
- Equity opportunities so you can share in our growth and success.
- Unlimited PTO and flexibility when you need it the most.
- Yearly learning & development stipend to help you grow and do your best work.
WHY CHOOSE ALTERNATIVE PAYMENTS?
