Associate Scientist, Histology

We are seeking a Histotechnologist to join our Translational Medicine Department's Clinical Histology Core, supporting Immune Oncology clinical trial studies. In this role, you will use cutting-edge immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization technologies to help our clinical colleagues understand how our immunotherapies treat and potentially cure patients across a wide range of cancers, working in a cross-functional environment with close interaction with Research and Translational Medicine colleagues. When & where: • Location: [Insert location] • Work model/flexibility: [Insert work model] Discover your role: • Prepare serial sections from biopsy samples, where section quality directly influences downstream staining and analysis • Cut control tissue, such as tonsil, for IHC and in situ hybridization studies • Perform H&E staining on automated instruments • Operate automated staining platforms, maintaining instruments and preparing bulk solutions • Receive clinical samples from outside collaborators, recording sample details and processing tissue • Scan slides on an automated slide scanner, QC images, and transfer files to the server • Work independently on the planning and execution of staining runs • Bring a willingness to learn new techniques and expand your role within the group This role requires: • BS with 2+ years of relevant experience • Proven track record working with human FFPE tissue • Experience accurately and reliably cutting serial sections, including on limited amounts of tissue • Experience sectioning biopsy samples • Strong organizational, computer, and time management skills, with the ability to work as part of a team and meet tight deadlines   Does this sound like you?
