About the role

FEQ427R549 Technical Enablement Specialist - Field Engineering Onboarding The Impact You’ll Have We are seeking a Technical Enablement Specialist to lead and advance how we onboard new Field Engineers at Databricks. At Databricks, we’re all builders. This role will develop the future of technical GTM Onboarding in the era of AI and innovate a highly-scaled program with a builder mentality. You will ensure every Field Engineer - from Solution Architects to Forward Deployed Engineers - leaves their ramp period with the core skillsets required of our technical GTM team, and can demonstrate role-readiness across our platform, product, and customer advisor competencies. This is an individual contributor role where you’ll lead through direct ownership, building AI-native enablement solutions, and cross-functional influence. What You’ll Do • Reimagine Field Engineering Onboarding and serve as the technical innovation engine for ramping technical GTM teams. • Leverage deep technical expertise to build, ship, and accelerate AI-native onboarding experiences, avoiding manual, one-size-fits-all approaches with tools that scale globally. • Codify what 'great' looks like for a new Field Engineer in an AI-first world — working with FE leadership and StratOps to translate field expectations into measurable onboarding milestones. • Advance the Field Engineering in-person onboarding experiences and lead the global planning and delivery, partnering with Onboarding Ops and Technical Trainers. • Serve as an advisor and trusted enablement partner to the Solution Engineering early career program. • Build strong partnerships with global Field Engineering, Product, and StratOps leaders to keep onboarding current and grounded in what the field actually needs on day one. • Accountable for Field Engineering Onboarding OKRs - role-readiness and velocity - and collaborate with StratOps on leading indicators and results. • Travel (up to 25%) for onboarding program delivery as you deploy new features and continuously innovate. What Success Looks Like • The AI tools, skills, and assessments you build are actively used by new hires and carried into the field. • Field Engineers leave onboarding with validated skillsets in building with Databricks and are prepared to serve as trusted advisors in their accounts. • Develop durable AI-native solutions for the global planning, operations, and delivery of Field Engineering Onboarding. • Land early wins to personalize onboarding in the first 3 months, with a roadmap to mature over the first 6 months. • Be a trusted voice and enablement partner to the early career Solutions Engineering leadership team. • Partner with the Technical Excellence and Field Enablement teams to align onboarding to global and regional priorities. What We Look For • 5+ years of experience in a GTM role, including solution engineering or solution architecture, post-sales or delivery, GTM enablement, or GTM Onboarding in a hyper-growth SaaS/AI environment. • Deep technical skills and strong knowledge of a Field Engineering organization. • A sharp instinct for field-readiness and the judgment to design a ramp that gets someone there fast. • Demonstrated ability to own high-impact and scaled programs over time, with outsized outcomes as an individual contributor. • Experience building technical enablement or internal tools with AI (skills, apps, or content) and demonstrated ability integrate AI into programmatic workflows. • Strong executive presence and stakeholder management skills; ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional partners. • Exceptional communication. You make complex technical concepts land for a technical audience across every role and tenure. • A bias for shipping and iterating in a fast-mov
