US H-1B: cap-subject employers enter a lottery weighted by wage level — Level I gets 1 entry, Level IV gets 4 (DHS projected selection odds ≈15% at Level I to ≈61% at Level IV). About the role
At Klaviyo, we value the unique backgrounds, experiences and perspectives each Klaviyo (we call ourselves Klaviyos) brings to our workplace each and every day. We believe everyone deserves a fair shot at success and appreciate the experiences each person brings beyond the traditional job requirements. If you’re a close but not exact match with the description, we hope you’ll still consider applying. Want to learn more about life at Klaviyo? Visit klaviyo.com/careers to see how we empower creators to own their own destiny.
Klaviyo is growing fast, and our people are moving with it: across borders, across offices, and sometimes across the world. You’ll run the global mobility program that makes that possible. That includes visas, relocations, secondments, and international assignments. You’ll be the go-to expert on the compliance side and the friendly face for every Klaviyo who’s about to uproot their life. The goal is a program that’s airtight on the guardrails and feels easy and human to the people going through it.
How you’ll make an impact:
• Build the program . You are the subject matter expert for Klaviyo on all things mobility and immigration. You’ll partner with leadership to design the program and advise on best practices - understanding risk and balancing compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, etc. All while providing a remarkable experience for all of our Klaviyos.
• Own immigration end to end . Drive US visa petitions from kickoff to approval. You will be the connective tissue between internal stakeholders, outside counsel, and Klaviyo teammates. You will stay up to date on federal, state, and local HR, compensation laws. Handling time sensitive documentation and data across various processes.
• Keep things moving . Monitor the evolving immigration landscape and track relevant updates for our employee base so that work statuses stay compliant - but more importantly to get ahead of questions our teammates will inevitably have. We want you to weigh the risks at hand, shaping the strategy for each case, and communicating with our employee population about what this means for them.
• Manage vendors . Partner with relocation and service partners to deliver a smooth move for employees and their families. We want you to be the go-to person that our teammates trust during a big move.
• Use mobility to grow our people . Develop a process for US and international assignments, with career development as the north star. You will help teammates stretch into new roles and markets, bring those skills back, and give the business a deeper global bench.
What we are looking for:
• 8+ years in corporate immigration and/or global mobility. Corporate relocation experience is a plus.
• Understanding of the tax side of mobility and employment well enough to spot issues early.
• Someone who communicates clearly in writing and in conversation, whether you’re explaining a visa timeline to an employee or a risk tradeoff to the leadership team.
• A self-starter who’s comfortable in a fast-moving, scrappy environment. You move quickly without cutting corners on accuracy or data integrity.
• A strong project, program, and vendor manager who prioritizes well and delegates when it makes sense.
• Customer-service energy. You like making people’s lives easier, even when the situation is stressful.
• Handling of sensitive information with discretion, tact, and integrity.
• Other related duties, as assigned.
