About the role
Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn’t work together.
So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions – to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Across it all, we’ve embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow in one place. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth, enabling sellers to capture the next generation shopper, increase order sizes, and compete at a larger scale.
Today, we are a partner to sellers of all sizes – large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex operations, sellers just starting, as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. As our sellers grow, so do our solutions. There is a massive opportunity in front of us. We’re building a significant, meaningful, and lasting business, and we are helping sellers worldwide do the same.
The Role
Not every seller comes to Square directly. A growing number reach us through resellers who sell Square on our behalf, and through independent contractors who represent Square in their own communities. Together these two motions make up our channel sales function.
As Senior Marketing Manager, Channel Sales, you will own marketing for both motions worldwide. You will be the primary marketing point of contact for the global channel sales team, turning what they need into programmes that scale. Most of your time will go into building scalable solutions that equip every reseller and contractor to sell Square well. The rest will be spent working shoulder to shoulder with our highest-performing resellers on activity that grows both their business and ours.
You will partner closely with channel sales leadership, events, content and regional marketing teams.
You Will
• Serve as the marketing point of contact for the global channel sales team, triaging incoming requests, prioritising them and shaping them into a coherent programme of work.
• Build and run a scaled co-marketing hub that gives resellers and independent contractors the campaigns, content and guidance they need to sell Square in their own markets.
• Partner directly with our top-performing resellers on demand generation campaigns that grow and convert their pipeline.
• Equip both motions to sell effectively, including through content and events.
• Work with our independent contractor and reseller network to extend Square's brand presence and build awareness / credibility in the communities they serve.
• Review incentive programmes that reward the strongest-performing resellers and contractors, partnering with the cross-functional teams who deliver different components of the programme to ensure and report back on success against objectives.
• Define how co-marketing funds work for this channel, setting out how funds are allocated, spent and measured.
• Work with sales to define an effective recruitment programme for resellers and independent contractors.
• Build a valued community that our resellers and independent contractors are proud to be a part of.
• Measure and report on programme performance.
You Have
• 8+ years of relevant marketing experience.
• Direct experience marketing through a channel, reseller, distributor or independent sales model.
• A strong background in B2B marketing, ideally within technology companies.
• Experience building enablement and co-marketing programmes that partn
