About the role
About the role
Chime Enterprise, the business-to-business division of Chime that partners with employers to provide workplace financial wellness benefits, is looking for a Director of Communications & Content to own the Chime Enterprise narrative.
In this role, you will oversee external press, internal communications, executive visibility, and thought leadership, including the editorial, social, and creator programs that support Chime Enterprise.
You’ll manage a small team of B2B content writers, as well as our PR agency of record. A core part of this role is making sure the story we tell the press, the story we tell through our own channels, and the story we tell through social and creator voices all work together.
You’ll report directly to the Head of Marketing & Growth, Chime Enterprise, and partner closely with peers across Demand Generation, Creative, Internal Communications, and External Communications.
In this role, you can expect to
• Set and execute our external communications strategy, including media relations, press strategy, and share-of-voice goals for the Enterprise business.
• Build and maintain relationships with tier-one and trade media, analysts, and industry influencers relevant to our category.
• Identify, develop, and place executive thought leadership, including bylines, speaking opportunities, podcasts, and media appearances. Serve as a strategic partner to company spokespeople.
• Manage our PR agency of record. Set the brief, hold the agency accountable to measurable outcomes, and determine when work is best handled internally or externally.
• Ensure consistency across press messaging, executive thought leadership, owned content, social, and creator programs so that each channel reinforces the same core narrative.
• Help drive internal communications for the Enterprise business. Ensure internal and external communications are coordinated and sequenced appropriately.
• Build and manage an HR and payroll analyst relations program that keeps key analysts informed and engaged, while partnering with them on larger programs when appropriate.
• Lead the Chime Enterprise executive thought leadership program, ensuring our executive voices are differentiated and support our commercial goals.
• Set the direction and quality bar for long-form and editorial content, including blogs, guides, ebooks, and other thought leadership.
• Oversee our organic social and influencer/creator programs.
• Work closely with cross-functional partners across Investor Relations, Government Affairs and Public Policy, Legal, and Compliance.
What We’re Looking For
• 10+ years of experience in communications or PR, including at least 3 years in a people-management or agency-management role.
• A Player-coach: You can set the strategy, lead a team, and roll up your sleeves to get the work done. You’re always looking for ways to make the work better and the team more effective.
• Experience working in a high-growth startup environment and managing multiple priorities at once with urgency.
• Proficiency with AI tools and an ability to use them to improve the quality and speed of content development.
• A track record of securing meaningful press coverage and building executive visibility, ideally in B2B SaaS, fintech, HR tech, or another regulated industry.
• Experience turning first-party or third-party data into compelling stories that can earn tier-one media coverage.
• Experience managing an outside PR agency from the client side.
• Comfort serving as a strategic partner and occasional ghostwriter for senior executives.
• Experience working with content, social, or community teams. You do not need to have directly managed each of these functions, but you should understand how they work and be able to set a high bar f
