About the role

📣 Join ViCentra – Empower Bold Change in MedTech 📍 Location: Utrecht, Netherlands 💼 Hybrid 🌍 Making every move matter At ViCentra, we’re on a mission to make living with diabetes easier, by designing simple, beautiful, and effective solutions that fit people’s lives, not the other way around. We combine technological innovation with human-centered design to empower people with more freedom, confidence, and life on their terms. Our values; Be Bold, Build Trust, Focus on the Customer and Deliver Excellence drive everything we create and every decision we make. We believe that when ambition meets purpose, remarkable things happen. If you thrive in a space where ideas accelerate, challenges spark growth, and making a difference is the goal, ViCentra is your next great adventure. 🚀 👩💻 Your Impact As Operations Finance Manager, you'll be the finance partner who sits right next to Operations, turning what happens on the production floor into numbers the whole company can trust. You'll own the full financial picture of making our Kaleido devices: the cost of goods sold, the overhead allocations behind it, the inventory on our balance sheet, and the forecast of where unit costs are heading. Building on a strong cost control foundation, this role brings cost accounting, operations FP&A and project controlling together under a single owner, by design. This is a build role, not a maintain role. Today, costing, forecasting and project spend each live in a different team, operational metrics and financial data rarely meet, and project reporting looks fine in total but lacks the detail to steer by. Your challenge is to change that: deliver a close that is consistent in timing and quality, connect operational KPIs to the financials, give every project sponsor real transparency on spend versus progress, and be confident enough to challenge Operations with data while staying their trusted partner. With gross margin as the metric that shapes ViCentra's next chapter, you'll do it at speed, with plenty of autonomy and a direct line of sight to the Senior Leadership Team and the Board. 🔧 What you’ll take on In your role, you will: • Own the standard cost model end to end: bill of materials, labour and overhead absorption rates, and the annual standard cost roll, with assumptions agreed with Operations up front. • Run the monthly production close and explain variances by driver (price, usage, yield, labour, absorption, volume), then close the root causes rather than reporting them again next month. • Own inventory valuation, including excess and obsolescence provisions, and reconcile the inventory subledger to the general ledger without manual bridging. • Manage the financial interface with our contract manufacturing partner: transfer prices, invoice-to-standard reconciliation, tooling, and the cost impact of engineering changes. • Translate the commercial sales plan into a supply and production plan, and from there into a driver-based production cost forecast and the manufacturing lines of the annual budget. • Build the gross margin bridge and unit cost trajectory in a form the SLT and Board can read on one page and interrogate on the second. • Set up a consistent financial format for the PMO portfolio, covering business case, budget, spend to date, forecast to complete and benefit realisation, and apply the right capitalisation treatment. • Prepare and challenge investment appraisals for capacity expansion, cost-down and new product introduction projects, and follow up on whether the promised benefits actually landed. • Establish a regular cadence with Operations that brings financial and operational metrics together into one complete, reconciled picture. • Simplify and automate recurring work such as the cost roll, variance pac
