About the role
(Senior) Sales Operations Manager
Sales Excellence
📍London · Fixed-term, 12-month contract
Please note: this role requires valid right to work in the UK. We're unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.
Team description
Sales Excellence is a key driver of SumUp’s Telesales acquisition strategy, playing a central role in defining the channel’s direction, driving performance improvements and coordinating the initiatives needed to turn strategic priorities into measurable business results across Europe. The team works across functions and markets to continuously improve the channel’s key performance metrics, ensuring that strategic decisions translate into tangible improvements in day-to-day execution.
For the next year, this role will help drive that agenda forward while the current owner is on parental leave, taking ownership of a portfolio of initiatives focused on improving channel performance, including lead engagement, conversion, pricing compliance and new products adoption. It’s an opportunity to make a visible and immediate impact on a strategically important acquisition channel at SumUp, with clear priorities already in motion and genuine ownership over how initiatives are prioritised, implemented and translated into measurable results across markets.
What you'll do
• Monitor and analyse key Telesales funnel performance metrics across markets. Identify trends and bottlenecks, proactively drive initiatives to address performance gaps, and propose and coordinate improvement solutions.
• Take ownership of a portfolio of channel initiatives, from setting milestones and managing dependencies through to delivery and follow-up.
• Partner with Sales leadership, Online Marketing, Product, Infrastructure, Enablement, Pricing and Analytics teams to shape process and tooling changes to improve the sales experience and our commercial offer.
• Lead change management for new tools, processes and KPIs, including communications, documentation and tracking adoption.
• Maintain the channel's playbooks, operating processes and feedback loops as its single source of truth
• Partner with the Sales Leadership to shape and drive the Telesales channel strategy through quarterly planning and ongoing performance reviews, using performance insights and company-wide priorities to define direction, prioritise initiatives and continuously adapt the channel’s agenda.
What we’re looking for…
• Experience in sales operations, commercial operations or revenue operations, ideally with exposure to Telesales or inside-sales channels
• Strong track record of leading cross-functional initiatives, managing dependencies and driving execution without relying on formal authority
• Comfort using data, spreadsheets, dashboards and CRM reports (plus basic SQL) to investigate performance trends and inform decisions
• Experience designing or improving sales processes, playbooks and KPIs, with a good understanding of CRM systems and sales tooling, as well as strong change management and adoption skills
• Ability to work confidently with AI-enabled tools and automation workflows to spot opportunities and support their rollout
