US H-1B: cap-subject employers enter a lottery weighted by wage level — Level I gets 1 entry, Level IV gets 4 (DHS projected selection odds ≈15% at Level I to ≈61% at Level IV). Universities and non-profit research employers are cap-exempt. The $100,000 fee for new petitions from abroad is currently blocked by a court order (appeal pending).

About the role
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Payable Specialist to manage our full-cycle accounts payable processes within our manufacturing operations. This role demands a strong foundation in core accounting fundamentals, including a solid grasp of debits, credits, and general ledger impacts. You will ensure financial accuracy through rigorous AP-to-GL reconciliations, vendor statement reviews, and proactive discrepancy resolution. Additionally, you will support our operational efficiency by participating in routine physical inventory counts. The ideal candidate balances strong analytical accounting skills with a collaborative mindset to bridge the gap between finance and shop floor inventory.
Key Responsibilities
• Three-Way Matching: Review, code, and reconcile high-volume invoices against purchase orders and warehouse receiving logs.
• Accounting Fundamentals: Apply a strong understanding of debits, credits, and accruals to ensure expenses are coded correctly to the General Ledger (GL).
• Reconciliations: Perform routine reconciliations of vendor statements and ensure the sub-ledger aligns accurately with the accounts payable GL account.
• Discrepancy Research & Resolution: Investigate, track, and resolve complex billing variances, price discrepancies, and quantity mismatches by researching transaction histories.
• Inventory & Audit Support: Physically participate in routine cycle counts and comprehensive physical inventory audits on the production floor.
• Payment Execution: Prepare and execute weekly payment runs via ACH, wire transfers, and checks.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with procurement, operations, and warehouse teams to optimize the receiving-to-payment cycle and manage supplier relations.
Qualifications & Skills
• Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
• Experience: 2+ years of dedicated accounts payable or general accounting experience.
• Core Accounting Skills: Strong foundational knowledge of general accounting principles, particularly debits/credits, GL account structures, and financial reconciliations.
• Analytical Skills: Proven ability to independently research ledger anomalies, audit vendor statements, and systematically resolve discrepancies.
• ERP Software: Proficiency with automated ERP systems (experience with SYSPRO is a major plus, but not required).
• Industry Context: Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or distribution environment is preferred, but training will be provided.
• Technical Skills: Intermediate Microsoft Excel capabilities (data entry, VLOOKUPs, pivot tables).
• Physical Requirements: Ability to safely navigate a manufacturing facility, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 25 lbs during physical inventory counts.
